Trusting Jesus
We are all children of God, we came from God, and because Jesus Christ gave himself as a sacrifice for our sin, we will be able to return back home to our Father in heaven one day. Out of all the knowledge man has been given, there is none more essential than knowing Jesus Christ. We must accept him and surrender to his sacrificial love, because He is the only door through which we can return to heaven. There is no questioning that Jesus Christ is the way, truth, and life!
Life on earth is a school, where we are working on becoming more like our loving spiritual Father, while learning to walk in Oneness of spirit, through Jesus Christ. In this school, God will use both the positive, and also what we might consider the negative, including our weaknesses and difficult situations, to help us grow. Our supreme purpose is to learn how to love God, ourselves, and love one another. Jesus states “You must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your passion, all your energy, and your every thought. And you must love your neighbor as well as you love yourself.” These are the two greatest commandments- love is lasting and eternal!
Also, while on earth, each of us has been given a God given mission! The Lord gives us gifts and talents according to his will, to enable us to fulfill our assignment. We should never compare our talents or weaknesses to another’s. We each have what we need, and the right spiritual tool is always available to us; we are each a unique creation, at different levels of spiritual development and understanding. Equality of spiritual strengths, weaknesses or gifts is not important. No one is insignificant in the eternities - every soul has infinite worth. While on earth we are not to dwell on what our mission is or might be, because Christ will lead and direct our paths, and it will be done according to its time. If we did know our complete mission on earth- most of us would likely try to complete it by our own might and power- not by abiding in dependence and oneness with our Lord’s Holy Spirit.
We also have an enemy on planet earth- Satan. The enemy attacks the foundation of love we have with the Savior, attempting to put doubt in the mind- questioning the goodness of God. He condemns the brethren, and attempts to create cycles of guilt and fear. Jesus does not condemn us- He is continually praying for our triumph! Because our Lord overcame Satan, we will too! Our Lord has gifted us with the power and tools needed to overcome and stand against this foe: righteousness and salvation through Christ, believing Prayer, Truth, Word of God, guardian angels, warring angels, praise, worship, and faith. “Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love” (Romans8:35tPt).
What do you do when the school of life feels discombobulated and you are unsure, and can’t figure out what the next step should be? Know the importance of the season you are in, and trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
