Do you struggle with food? Do you have issues with your relationship to food? Some of us can eat in ways that are healthy and nourishing and not even have to think about it much and then there are those of us who struggle with food on many different levels. We like to overeat, eat food that isn’t good for us, agree with our systems, or make us gain weight. It’s easy to see why this happens - food is delicious and it triggers feel good chemicals in our GI track - now often called our 2nd brain. It can be soothing and calming. It can temporarily reduce stress which is a major precursor to addictive behavior. Listen to Dr. Lauren and Alana as they explore the many facets of food addiction - considered a “process addiction” because you can’t be abstinent but instead must find a way to eat while not triggering this mystifying problem.

The Consciousness Salon is a conversation where psychologist Dr. Lauren Costine partners with community activist Alana Roshay to raise individual and collective consciousness through enlivening conversations about psychological and social justice issues. Both pride themselves on being part of the current global efforts to raise individual and collective consciousness. As le***an and queer-identified cisgender women Dr. Lauren and Alana will focus on LGBTQ/Queer and Women’s issues and the essential role these communities are playing in the world’s waking up process.
