Dimland Radio
A life-long self-talker, Jim “Dr. Dim” Fitzsimons was given the opportunity to talk to himself in a more public way on Z Talk Radio. Z Talk Radio is an internet radio station, home to plenty of shows that tend toward belief in and promotion of the paranormal and the supernatural. Jim is skeptical of all that kind of stuff, including ghosts, demons, bigfoots, psychics, conspiracy theories, etc., and he would let the Z Talkers know that in the chat room while listening to the various shows on the network. There soon came the suggestion that Jim become the resident skeptic of the station and do his own show. So, in March, 2010, Dimland Radio hit the internet. The show is a mixture of science promotion, pop culture observations (and rants), movie talk, baseball talk, some politics, and, of course, skepticism. There is the regular segment called the Dimland Radio Pedantic Moment, in which the host gets all “well, actually” about some aspect of a movie, commercial, meme, or whatever it might be got something wrong. It’s kind of the signature segment of the show. In late 2016, Dimland Radio became available as a podcast. You can still listen on Z Talk Radio on Saturday nights at 11:00 pm Central. In fact, the host is always there in the chat room at ztalkradio.com/listen-live-chat/ during playback, so you can chat with him and tell him where he’s wrong. He just loves that. (That’s supposed to sound sarcastic.) You can subscribe to Dimland Radio through iTunes and follow on Podbean. Please do. Talking to oneself is more than a little weird.
