Mix Tape Collective Turning tapes into really long empeethrees. There once was a time when you would put on a record or press play on a tape. Be your own DJ.

We aim to source media from various internet resources (myspace, youtube, bandcamp, etc...), our own collections of tapes, records, cds & mp3s with the vision of physically forcing yr ears to operate with all yr other senses. By creating physical mix-tapes, converting them to 45 minute digital mixtapes and sharing them with the world, it is our hope that you will once again be physically involved

in the process of actively listening. And from that point you either had to commit to listening to the entire side, or figuring out which groove the needle had to be moved to, or just how long you had to press fast-forward to get back to yr favorite song. There once was a time before cds and mp3s when art was held accountable for its relevance and validity. It is our hope that you will discover something new. It is our hope that you will make yr own mix-tapes. It is our hope that you will once again engage with music instead of being a passive listener in a sea of sounds.
