Concerned about women's healthcare, child welfare, and immigrant rights issues. My name is JJ and I live in a small town in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. My degree is in Medieval History, I'm also a fiber artist, and fascinated with the historic aspect about art and culture. I'm a Sky Dancer and write for a blog called Sky Dancing. http://skydancingblog.com/
I started this page to post a
rticles and updates that I have written on the Sky Dancing Blog, without posting them to my personal page. I write under the name JJ Lopez Minkoff. I guess you could call me a FDR Democrat, I supported Hillary Clinton in '08 and did not vote for Obama. I will not support any GOP or conservative agenda that does not support women's rights, LGBT rights and human rights. I feel that an individual's religious beliefs do not make you a good and better person. I believe that your actions and your behavior towards others is what counts and what makes you a better human being. My epilepsy and migraines keep me from driving and working...at least I have an outlet with my writing. I am very proud to be a part of the diverse group of writers on SkyDancingBlog.com. We have articles on a variety of topics. It is not just politics...we discuss psychology, health care, environmental issues, farming, agriculture, economics, current events, art, literature and just about anything that sparks an interesting discussion. Sky Dancing Blog ~ a place to discuss real issues ~

The Sky Dancing banner headline uses a snippet from a work by artist Tashi Mannox called 'Rainbow Study'. The work is described as a" study of typical Tibetan rainbow clouds, that feature in Thanka painting, temple decoration and silk brocades". dakinikat was immediately drawn to the image when trying to find stylized Tibetan Clouds to represent Sky Dancing. It is probably because Tashi's practice is similar to her own. His updated take on the clouds that fill the collection of traditional thankas is quite special. He is also a calligraphy artist that uses important vajrayana syllables. He has even designed one of my tattoos! I encourage you to visit his on line studio.
