The origins of Flavamakers date back to 1999-2000 when DJ OneDrop and DJ DonGorgon formed a DJ mixing crew. For the love of dancehall and reggae music they started to make riddim mixes, creative refixes and blends by the name Dutch Sound Crew. Although dancehall and reggae were their main focus, they also picked up mixing in Hiphop, Urban and House genres. Next to mixing also composing and produci
ng dancehall, hiphop and house music was of interest of the team. DJ Don Gorgon learned the ins and outs of musicproduction from, and worked with (hobby-based) with Dutch producer Brownie Dutch using FL Studio. Flavamakers Records takes with the music composing and -production legacy of Dutch Sound Crew. In '05 there was a break in the formation due to family and professional matters. Back in 2011 DJ Don Gorgon picked up composing and musicproduction again as autodidact using productionsoftware like Reason, Cubase, Ableton and Pro Tools. In the 2012-2013 crossover things began to rumble again when DJ Don Gorgon composed a new uptempo dancehall riddim, Freeze Out riddim. It was planned to be released early 2013, but personal issues threw grit in the works. Freeze Out riddim features up coming and some more developed artists, wich are the main focus of Flavamakers Records: looking for talented new and up coming artists in dancehall and reggae genre. The release of the riddim is now planned in end Q1 / start of Q2 2014 and Flavamakers will be assisted by DJ Kaas Media, Yardhype for networking and promotion activities. DJ Kaas (NL) and Maticalise (JM) will be making the promotional riddim mix.
