aaand we're back with Season 16, lots of chat/Movies/TV and BS!!

The Christmas/Holidays are over and the gang have seen a lot of things, dark things, things you can’t easily forget…..wait what was I saying? Ah yes, Movies, we saw some of them too. The latest DC Superhero flick takes us underwater with Khal Drogo, someone who seems like he is up for a bit of crack with the boys. That’s not a drugs reference. I think. We spend a bit of time discussing Birdbox and the worrying trends it has inspired in the real world. That’s not an MTV reference. I think. On the small screen we choose our own adventure with Netflix’s departure from passive TV – Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. We finally find a show with a character Mike can respect in You and lastly we pull a show with subtitles, Girl From Nowhere, to show our international flavor.

Jurassic Park is back and Jeff Goldbloom is still telling anyone who will listen that dinosaurs are a really really bad idea, almost as bad as having kids speak in movies. Meanwhile Bryce Dallas does her best Fast and Furious impression and Starlord proves a kind and considerate lover to giant reptiles; humans not so much. They also answer the question, how many side characters does it take to reboot a computer system? Continuing the interspecies love fest theme, we check out the much maligned Solo, charting the early days of the loveable rogue and his Wookie bromance. It lost more money than a drunken Ewok in a Jawa casino but is it all that bad? Whats the story Star Wars? We discuss. Impulse is.. impulsive viewing (sorry) and The Making of the Mob… best ever … but why? Mike tells it like it is.

After a week’s break we dive headfirst into the oceanic slobberknocker between giant monsters and giant robots, the kind of fight where nobody loses, except possibly the fans, and definitely Tokyo; Pacific Rim: Uprising! It turns out that Derry Girls and Krypton have an actor in common as we review this YA offering focused on Superman’s Grandad. Lastly we see what happens when John Cena decides no daughter of his gets to have s*x in comedy Blockers. Also, Mike and Steve watch things in foreign languages and force Mark to hear about them.

Mike is AWOL this week leaving Steve and Mark to battle on gamely reviewing a slew of movies and tv. Netflix offering Annihilation has us reminiscing on the days of straight to tv, while Money Heist brings up the cultural divide; Steve desperately trying to raise Mark’s brow sufficiently to where he can read subtitles. Steve reviews the Outsider, leaving Mark to tackle 50 Shades Freed and Pitch Perfect 3 in a recliner for some reason?

As usual the MCU divides the camp as we review the film everyone in the world seems to be watching, Black Panther. Stargate is back to tell us where it all started in Stargate Origins. Everything Sucks! if you were in high school back in 1996, this Netflix comedy attempts to explain why, as we argue about what they are explaining and the validity of Mike being interested in a show featuring teens because it looks like they are going to have s*x, shame Mike, shame.

This week the gang try to work out if a superhero created in 1970 by DC comics to introduce some diversity still works in the backdrop of a much more diverse 2018 Universe with Black Lightening. Mark thinks Brittania is like too much lemongrass, but what does that even mean? In Mollly’s Game the duo of Mike and Steve battle it out to see whose polarized opinion has the most weight. All of this and Mike finally shares his view on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it might not be what you expect!

The best thing about being a bicycler or bicyclette is that its Christmas every Friday! In this episode Mark spins a tale of Winter woe as we delve into all of Mike’s TV and Film debasement. If Pretty Little Liars had superpowers you’d get Marvel’s Runaways, we decide if that is a good thing. Steve breaks the golden rule by adding miniseries Godless to the list and Mark continues to shock everyone in his willingness to learn about world events with 6 Days, a recounting of the Iranian Embassy siege from 1980.

In this episode we spend a very long time not talking about tv and film but get there in the end as we relive our geek childhood memories in Voyager Probe documentary The Farthest. How hurty-hurty is hurty-hurty-blood series Punisher? We delve deep in describing just how gratuitous violence affects our viewing pleasure and finish up by reviewing RTE’s net mockumentary The School!

Mark and Steve fly solo this week proving once and for all who the talent on the show is, or isn’t! Gaining additional perspective on SEAL Team through the use of Mark’s eyes, Steve describes how he would have liked it if he wasn’t himself. The crew argues about Una, for completely different reasons than men typically argue over women. Last off the list The Good Doctor again shows why Mark did and Steve didn’t watch Grey’s Anatomy!

After a month’s break the gang finally drag themselves to the Is It A Bicycle Complex to record a bumper episode of TV and Film reviews. We talk about dicks, again, this time for American Vandal. Confession Tapes from Netflix has nothing to do with Mike’s weekend. The length of the Deuce has Mark lamenting and fractions, strangely, are hotly debated as we discuss Strike: Cuckoo’s Calling One Third. Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Dark Tower is the closest we get to a Blockbuster, but Netflix puts up cinematic competition with What Happened to Monday? Mark declares it unofficial Star Trek week as we discuss the franchise’s return to tv and the Star Trek inspired comedy The Orville

NEW SEASON PREMIERE! :-)
In this week's episode, Steve shows up Mike and Shona who haven’t done their homework. Instead, the gang chat about everything they’re watching this week. Opinions are thrown in for good measure on credible tv pursuits like Mayweather v Mcgregor and a spoiler-free Game of Thrones discussion, to the less credible – hate-watching Fifty Shades of Grey and Celebs Go Dating. Steve, ever the professional, gives us his reviews of new tv remake Get Shorty starring Ireland’s favourite dufus, Chris O’Dowd. In Astronauts: Do You Have What It Takes, we see a bunch of overachievers get their own show. Charlize Theron is more Mission: Impossible than Kill Bill in Atomic Blonde.

After an unexpected sabbatical last week, the crew are back together. Mark laments the professionalism and lack of s*xism on the show while we review the Bryan Cranston move Wakefield. Family life is front and center on the show as we move from an exploration of Marriage that might have been a better play, to the effects of autism on dating with Netflix’s Atypical. Women’s Rugby gets another look in as Shona laments the Irish games and we round out the show talking about Stephen King tv adaptation Mr. Mercedes.
