At the 2021 IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Expo a brand new dark ride concept was announced today! Sally Dark Rides is currently designing and building VOLKANU - Quest for The Golden Idol which will open at Lost Island Theme Park. The new ride will be housed inside the park's large volcanic structure. It fits in with the park's mythical island theme and will feature interactivity, animatronics and immersive sets....

By now, I'm sure you've heard the news. Universal Orlando has announced that Shrek 4D is officially closing on January 10, 2022. Plus Fear Factor Live is never coming back (not a huge shock) at all. While we have covered what we believe to be happening as a replacement for those spaces in previous articles, today we are just going to affect Halloween Horror Nights in 2022 and possibly beyond....

Learning new theme park nuggets is an obsession of mine. The thing about nuggets, they are rarely served on a silver platter. You have to dig for them. A perfect example is a new interview with Larry Nikolai I recently found on Sam Carter's YouTube Channel. With the pandemic winding down, life is slowly returning to normal. Theme parks are returning with limited offerings and Broadway is coming back starting in September. One thing we haven't heard about: what's going on with immersive theater? Some shows like "Then She Fell" unfortunately are closed for good. Others like "Sleep No More" will most likely come back once pretty much all restrictions are lifted, which most likely won't be until next year....

Today, Legacy Entertainment posted a never-before-seen concept for a 'Night At The Museum' dark ride! Courtesy: Legacy Entertainment Now before you get excited, this concept artwork is from 2010 and the idea has been shelved. My understanding is that this was for a major theme park chain that didn't quite have the rights to the franchise....

Well, this will be interesting. That's correct. Drawing in the dark, while riding a flying bicycle at Universal Studios Florida and you can watch it happen live! Josh Schwartz is a theme park designer and artist who will be attempting this on June 13th at 9 pm EST on Youtube. This is not his first attempt at drawing while on a moving attraction....

Since many parks reopened last year, the standard has been that all guests must wear a face-covering during their visit to the park. Naturally, this comes with exceptions like taking photos and eating or drinking. Clearly, certain parks enforce their own rules more than others. Most notably, Dollywood was the first major theme park to life their mask mandate last week....
