Our Story
The Journal Argus was a weekly, Wednesday, paid-circulation newspaper serving Perth, Middlesex and Oxford counties. The weekly St. Marys Journal was established in 1853; the weekly St. Marys Argus was established a few years later. The two publications merged in the early 1900s to form the St. Marys Journal Argus, under the ownership of the Eedy family. The Journal Argus was sold to Metroland Media, a division of Torstar Publishing, in the 1990s, and ceased operation in 2017.
