What a fun quick two-day trip to Seattle to indulge ourselves in some of the finest cask ales in the Pacific Northwest. We spent the better part of two afternoons at the Autumn Beer Fest at Machine House Brewery.

In addition to the brewery’s eight beer engines, it is also offering up five beers from a pin. Yes, 13 real ales on the tap list through Sunday!

Our highlights were Autumn Bitter, Oatmeal Stout, Fresh Hop Pale Simcoe Bitter, and The Second First One. Plus, two collaborations The Roots of the Mountain, a collaboration with Holy Mountain Brewing and Pale Oat Mild, a collaboration with Bizarre Brewing were outstanding!

Made our first visit to Columbia City Urban Beer Garden from Fremont Brewing on this rainy fall day. Had to go with the brewery’s Winter Ale, one of our favorites of the season!

Then the final 4-pack of Cowiche Canyon Fresh Hop Ale was found in the to-go cooler. Guess there’s some additional beer heading back to Portland later this evening on Amtrak.
