I walked into a store today and noticed they had KDOK on the radio. When checking out, I commented to the cashier that I appreciated them listening. She said, "It's the only station we can stand to listen to." Hmmm. Is that a compliment???

Heads-up, everybody! Watch where you park near the World's Richest Acre the next several weeks...

KHPF is excited to notify you all that Shane Davis Tower Painting out of Polk City, Florida, will be helping us revitalize and preserve the derricks on the Acre this June. We understand these specialists should be here by the end of the week.

The crew will be taking precautions to prevent overspray incidents, and they'll avoid inconveniencing the public as much as possible while they're working 7 days a week.

We're reaching out to nearby businesses and property owners in advance, and please help us spread the word as we continue our efforts to save Kilgore's signature skyline.

Importantly, the painters will pause their efforts for Derrick Fest, set for 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 22, on the Acre. We hope you'll join us!

Geekend is helping Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation put together the first annual Derrick Fest on June 22nd! It's a new fundraising event to help KHPF maintain and preserve our historic derricks.

Exciting news! CLARK FARMS will be attending/hosting Kilgore Farmers market this summer! We will not be at Pirtle church! We will also still be set up in Henderson as normal!

Please help us share. We are looking for vendors to join! (My original vendors from Pirtle I will reach out soon or if y’all see this message me!) I am working on the applications/details and will make a new post when I have those available! Tag your friends! And share! We are excited to be a part of the Historic Downtown Kilgore Market this year!

I'm not sure why this video popped up on my computer today, but as many of you know, I did sound for Cat Stevens for quite a while. This video is 1976, the Majicat Earth Tour. I don't recall where this was recorded, but we did that quite often. I'd forgotten about this song, but hearing it again has brought on a flood of memories. I hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunately, due to an accident involving the equipment carrying the fireworks for this year's show, Kilgore's Fourth of July Extravaganza is cancelled. The City pool will continue to be free for the remainder of today, but the band and fireworks show will not be held.
