This MIC! I'm guessing I picked it up about 30 years ago, in exactly the condition you see here. UGLY! But when I first started running sound for bands in Keene around 1992-1993, it was all I could afford. Can't imagine I paid more than $10 for it.
Fast forward a few decades, and I wouldn't be caught dead with this thing on one of my stages.
Yesterday I gifted a basement be**er PA system to a friend's son, a 15 year old who is just starting to play in a band. Yamaha powered mixer, 2 Yamaha Club Series speakers (in Oak!), cables, mic stand, and this beast. I hadn't plugged it in for years.
When I set up the rig and plugged in the mic, I'll be damned if it didn't sound absolutely fantastic. Seriously, I was taken aback by how good it sounded. But now it's in a new place, hopefully launching a decades-long musical journey for a new batch of rockers.
