We wanted the whole world to know about Kitintale. Read now in doloresmagazine.com the story of the first skatepark ever to be built in East Africa.
It’s amazing how the park came about, but it’s even more amazing how it impacted the area and the people who live there. This one is a very special one and a must read, if we may say so ourselves!

Skateboarding has always been a place of creation, resistance and solidarity. We would like to take a clear stand and show our support to the Palestinian people. We do not support the war crimes in Gaza and call for a free Palestine.

Since October 2023, there have been over 10,000 Palestinian deaths across Gaza and the West Bank - most of which were children. But recent events are not isolated incidents. The Palestinian people have been living under occupation for 75 years.

We would like to show solidarity for Palestine and be part of a collective call from the skateboarding industry, a global community that has always stood for solidarity, for a ceasefire in Palestine.

Sign this open-letter of skateboarding in solitary, calling for an end of violence in Gaza and the West Bank.

There’s barely anything we can do to help in times of war, but here’s what we can do:

- Educate ourselves and learn about the history of Palestine.
- Help raise awareness and show support (make a post on social media, for example).
- Boycott private companies supporting violence against Palestine.
- Protest!
- Pressure politicians.

Leading a Conversation Circle with people we don’t know might feel a bit awkward, but it felt like home in Copenhagen. How lovely it is to be in a space where everyone can express themselves and listen to each other?! The topic of the conversation was the importance of having flinta* spaces focused on the skate scene.

The creative part of the workshop got off to a slow start and some of the participants first had to familiarize themselves with the materials. After the first attempts at cutting and test printing, things quickly escalated. Motifs and colors were combined, new shades were mixed and unique and wonderful T-shirts were created. Both the participants and we were impressed by the great results. We would like to thank everyone involved and appreciate the positive feedback!

Can’t wait to the next one!
