Christ is risen, indeed! 🌷

Happy Easter, friends. We spent a lovely day celebrating in worship with our church family, teaching in our K-2 kids ministry class, and enjoying delicious food and great company with family and friends. None of this would be possible (or even remotely relevant) without the love of the Lord - a love so deep that He was compelled to send Jesus to the cross to save us. What an immeasurable and indescribable blessing!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well. Let’s continue in our rejoicing this week as well!

Alllllllright - this is my very last 2024 reading recap post! I am honestly so glad to be done with this series, and excited to move on to writing again. This post is a compilation of my lesser read genres, like Mystery, Thriller, and Fantasy. Click the link in my bio and navigate to “Blog” to read this week’s post! Back to regular programming now 🌸

FINALLY you guys, another book blog post! This one is all of the books I consider to be “Life Discovery” books, which is actually my favorite genre! Most of my very favorite reads from the year on in this list, so if you’re looking for something feel-good this is definitely for you.

Okay, to acknowledge the elephant in the room: yes, I do realize it’s April and I am *still* finishing these posts 🤦🏻‍♀️ honestly, these take a long time to put together and I’ve been struggling! But in the battle between “these are taking too long, I want to move on” and “I have to finish what I started”, the latter won out and here I am trying to wrap this up after 3 months.

My intention is to do one more post with all the books that are left (a conglomeration of mystery, thriller, adventure, and fantasy reads) and then call it a day. As much as it’s been fun to share all this, I have been talking about books WAY too much and am ready to move on! We’ll see how quickly I can get this done :) click the link in my bio and navigate to “Blog” to read my reviews on this category of books 🌸

Forgot to post this yesterday - new blog post is up! This is the first of the detailed “2024 Reading Round-up” posts, and I’m covering all the romance books I read. This is going to be the largest category (because I find rom/coms so easy to breeze through on audio), so if you’re interested in low/no spice romance books this is the post for you! Click the link in my bio to read 🌸 p.s. this is an AI generated image so it’s a little cheesy but it works 🤷🏻‍♀️

I simply love to host. I find it to be one of life’s greatest delights, bringing people into my home and making them feel special! So this past weekend was a dream getting to invite dear friends, old and new, over for a Galentine’s themed party. We dressed up (and everyone KILLED it!), did a little craft, ate yummy food, and drank tea out of thrifted teacups 🎀🫖🌸☕️

It was absolutely lovely.

I’ve been dreaming of this type of party for months, originally with no particular season in mind. But it finally occurred to me that there was a perfect occasion in Valentine’s Day, which also just so happens to be in the middle of the worst month of the year! Well, maybe it’s not the worst month for everyone, but it usually is for me. It’s cold and gray, and there’s so little to look forward to other than the relief of spring - which is always delayed far longer than I want 👎🏻

The point is, I think things were a big success. I had several ladies tell me it was so nice to have something special to get out of the house for, especially as moms with littles. Mission accomplished 🙌🏻🥰 I’m feeling so grateful to be blessed by the Lord with the time and resources to be able to make something like this happen.

It’s here!!! This will be the first of several posts about my 2024 reads, and we’re starting off strong with a broad overview of all the books. For those of you who aren’t interested in details and just want basic titles and recommendations, this post will be your friend! 🫶🏻 Coming next are more detailed posts, separated by genre, to give more info about each book for those of you who like that type of thing. This should give you a taste, though - enjoy! Click on the link in my bio and navigate to the “Blog” page to read my list of 2024 reads 🌸

I’ve been excitedly awaiting this post since I started posting about my reads on here… and the day is finally here! Introducing: My 2024 Reading Round-Up series! 📚

I won’t pretend to be the worlds most prolific reader - but I did make it through a fair amount of books last year, and I’m delighted to see myself engaging so regularly in a peaceful hobby that brings me joy! I know at least a handful of you are readers like me, so I’m starting the year off strong with a bookish series to give you some literary inspiration for 2025. ✨

If you’re a book-lover, or simply want to read more this year, check out today’s blog post introducing the short series and giving you some background on my own reading history. Click the link in my bio and navigate to “Blog” to read 👓 or listen 🎧 to today’s post! 🌸

yesterday was my two year wedding anniversary! honestly, with the amount of life we’ve lived in the last two years it feels like too small of a number. but I am beyond thankful to be married to such a gentle, loving, and supportive man. wouldn’t want to do all this with anybody else!

love you, JP ❤️

here are just a couple highlights from the last year, and some favorite wedding photos because I’ve never shared any here!

p.s., can you identify our Halloween costume from last year?? 🧑🏻‍🦱🌳🎨

september recap 🌻 (ps if you’ve seen me repost this multiple times no you didn’t 🤪 Instagram is being a p**p)

this is my favorite month of the year for many reasons. this year in particular it was restful and lovely! the weather was delightful, and I had some really fun things to be excited about, namely:

- 10 nights of prayer at church
- celebrating my 25th birthday with friends🎊
- time with my mom 💖
- total surprise birthday gift from my husband and brother (Nintendo DS with a nostalgic game I used to play!!!!) 🎧

feeling thankful for such a nice end to the summer, and actually excited about fall for once in my life ☺️

“Desire vs Capacity: Intro to Series”
New blog is live - and I’ve been thinking about this topic for a while! So long, in fact, that I’ve realized I have a lot more to say than what will fit in one post 🤭

In this week’s blog I’m introducing a new series about burnout and its root issue, which I’ve often found to be the inability to accept the gap between our desires (to say “yes” to things) and our capacity.

Looking forward to sharing my thoughts on this over the next few weeks! If you want to read or listen along, click the link in my bio and navigate to the top of the “Blog” page 🌸

stroller walk views 🏠✨🌿

one of the most unexpected delights about my current nannying job is the beautiful neighborhood I get to walk in. it’s nestled in the middle of a historic district, and ends with a lovely shaded park. most of the homes along the way are either 100+ years old and beautifully restored or elaborate tear-downs 🤩

feels like my own personal residential architecture walk every week 🥰

Confession: I do a lot more sewing projects in my mind than I actually do in real life 🫣

But this is one that finally made it out of my head! I really do love to sew, but I tend to spend a lot more time planning projects and never actually executing them 😂

This is a revamp of one of my husband’s button-up shirts that was in the donation pile. I loved the print, and thought it was a good opportunity to try a flip that I saw online!

It’s definitely not perfect, and I learned a lot; but for figuring it out with no pattern, I’m pretty happy with it 🪡

📖 Book Review 📖
I really enjoyed this heart-tugging read about redemption and hope! It’s about a man coming to terms with his past and learning to embrace life again through a little girl he meets selling lemonade on the street 🍋

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one is easy to rate, because it’s very clean! I found the writing style a bit challenging to get used to, but that may have been better in physical form instead of audio. Otherwise, it was wonderful!

Narrator: 👍🏻
The audiobook narrator was good - not much to complain about, but not much to directly praise either 🤷🏻‍♀️ good enough to not distract me!
