🎮 Microsoft agreed to buy Activision Blizzard – maker of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush, Overwatch, Diablo, and more – in an all-cash deal valuing the video game publisher at $68.7 billion. Microsoft plans to add many of Activision’s games to Xbox Game Pass once the deal closes.
This is the software giant’s largest-ever acquisition by a wide margin, topping its 2016 purchase of LinkedIn by more than $40 billion.
It’s also the largest acquisition in gaming history by far, breaking a record set last week when Take-Two Interactive agreed to buy mobile games giant Zynga for $12.7 billion.
Earlier this week, the WSJ reported that Activision had fired or disciplined more than 80 employees since July as part of efforts to address sexual harassment and other misconduct allegations, including an ongoing lawsuit filed by California regulators and an open SEC investigation. Thousands of other employees have demanded that CEO Bobby Kotick resign.

Twenty-eight year old Enrique Rodriguez became somewhat of a TikTok star after posting videos of himself singing for patients in the ICU where he works.
But it wasn’t always this way. If you had told Enrique ten years ago that he would be working in a hospital and singing for patients every day, he probably wouldn’t have believed you.
In 2009, Enrique joined a local gang as a “blood member,” intrigued by the idea of a tight-knit group and the opportunities to make quick and easy money. Soon after, Enrique began to realize he had made a horrible mistake.
Enrique later transitioned to a job as a housekeeper at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and his life began to change. Along with the new job in the hospital, Enrique began to teach himself piano, guitar, and vocals – all completely by ear. Eventually, he started to serenade his patients in the ICU.
The connection and healing that he witnessed in patients from his music was astounding. He began live-streaming and posting his mini “concerts” to his TikTok account, where the phlebotomist has garnered over 80,000 followers.

There’s been a lot of recent talk about space travel – and not enough about food growing in the depths of the sea.
🌱Emerging from the depths... Nemo's Garden is a fully operational greenhouse system that grows plants like basil, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peas. Submerged eight meters below sea level, the farm is slightly different than your mom’s backyard planters.
Created by the Ocean Reef Group in 2012 as a means to research agricultural diversity, the self-sufficient biospheres are able to healthy grow plants using solar energy and evaporated sea water. After COVID-19 lockdowns forced development on the project to pause for over a year, the garden is finally back open for business.
