You might be expecting me to say vacation. Vacations are a way to
✅ Recharge
✅ Forget about problems
✅ Reflect on life

But I’m not. Vacations don’t eliminate burnout, it’s just temporary relief. Most of the time when you get back you feel…
❌ More exhausted
❌ Overwhelmed with work
❌ Stuck with the same feelings you felt before vacation

So here’s what you can do. See my top 5 tips below…

1️⃣Learn the difference between sleep and rest. Rest is when your mind has a chance to just be. It’s like being on do not disturb. Sleep is what your body needs to physically complete all of processes needed for your body to physically function. It’s more cognitive in nature.

2️⃣Nothing is something to do. If you are constantly moving from meeting to meeting it’s not wonder you can’t sleep at night. You need time throughout your day to have nothing to do so you’re incorporating moments of rest in your daily routine.

3️⃣Let’s get physical. A little stretch here and there can break up the monotony of meetings, screen fatigue, and general overwhelm from the day. Getting a quick walk or stretch can do wonders.

4️⃣Energy not time. Do you know what things diminish versus replenish your energy? Too often you look at time as if that determines how tired you are. ENERGY is your body’s way of telling you when something is wrong. Instead of ignoring your body start listening.

5️⃣Small adjustments to your daily routine help manage burnout over the long run. Instead of getting to 0% then trying to recharge, you want to add ways to manage daily stress and fatigue so you can healthier mentally, physically, and spiritually.
