Yes Lovers!

This Easter weekend we are supplying you with two opportunities to rub yourself up against some mighty beautiful Hip Hoppery as you emerge blinking from your little eggs into a bright world of springtime wonder. We are taking up residence at The Bullingdon for a couple days…

ON FRIDAY… catch Episode One (Rawz, Easy and King Boyden) alongside DeSide, and a host of other friends as we support High Focus Records' CMPND on the Oxford leg of their UK Tour. Check the comments for a ticket link...

ON SATURDAY… Join us again for a more chilled out Living Room session with a triple threat DJ set from Episode One, live beats, bars, incense and all that good stuff, who knows someone might turn up with a trumpet again!

We would love to see you come through, it’s gonna be tastier than a whole stack of chocolate bunnies!

🎤🎨 Oxford! PAPER JAM returns for another night of FREE music, art supplies, and good vibes THIS SATURDAY! 🚀

This time we’re at Tap Social Movement's Whitehouse on Abingdon Road 🎶✨

🖌️ Unleash your creativity with complimentary art supplies while you marinate in live Hip Hop from the crew and your favourite bevvies from our favourite socially conscious brewer, you can even jump on the mic if you're feeling it! 🎤💃

What’s more? As well as bringing inspiration and unity to the local scene, Paper Jam is also raising money for the cause. Once we have filled up our art books over the course of a few Jams, we will hold an event where the sketch pads and the art inside will be auctioned off to raise money to support local grassroots art activity.

No tickets needed – just bring your energy and passion for a night of spontaneous creativity! 🎨🕺 Tag your crew, spread the word, and let's turn The Whitehouse into a house of colour and creativity!

Save the date, spread the word, we'll see you there!

for a peek at some of the art created at the previous Paper Jam

This event was made possible by Rawz In-Spire Sounds MES Creations Drop All Words Media Inner Peace Records and of course our gracious hosts!

See you there good people!

Peace Lovers, peace indeed...

We are proud to have teamed up with DEAD RAT ORCHESTRA and 48 other artists of all faiths, genders, nationalities and eye colours to create this compilation album raising money to support medical care for those that most need it on the ground in Gaza.

CEASE SILENCE: Music against silence in the face of slaughter features music from Rawz & Call.Me.Tiece, and Episode One (Rawz, King Boyden and Easy) alongside a plethora of artists from across the globe raising their voices against the unfolding Genocide in Gaza and in support of the Palestinian people.

All profits from this digital only release are being donated directly to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, supporting those on the ground who need it most.

‘Cease Silence’ is available NOW from ceasesilence.bandcamp.com for a minimum price of £15 (you can of course pay more if you want to).

Shocked not only by the events in Gaza, but also the extensive silence amongst those with platforms to be heard, this project is more than just a musical endeavour, it is a collective outcry.

Featuring the contributions of 48 artists from more than a dozen countries worldwide, the album’s 4 hours span an eclectic mix of electronics, folk, jazz, drone, hip-hop, field recordings, sound art and song – all united across a diverse range of faiths, genders and backgrounds in this act of protest.

🎤🎨 HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVERS!!! 🎨🎤

We’ve got the cure for the grey January gloom and doomys!

Your favourite Hip Hop jam session collided with an art club to manifest some creative magic! The first-ever Paper Jam is happening at Port Mahon on Jan 20th that’s SATURDAY NEXT WEEK, it will become a regular occurrence in your creative calendars throughout #2024.

Picture the scene: Live beats from producers like King Boyden and Easy Chalmers setting the vibe,🎶 an open mic cypher set to burst into lyrical flames,🎤 and art supplies 🖌️for you to draw, doodle, and let your creativity flow while soaking in the vibes and enjoying your favourite beverages! 🥂🍻 🌟

So, stick the date in your calendar, rally your squad, and let's turn Port Mahon into a place of rhythm, vision and flow.

We can’t wait.

Let us sign off by bigging up the partnership supporting this event series, every one of them doing loads to support human creativity in a time where it's needed so much, and it seems harder than ever for so many of us to do things we love. Maximum respect to Rawz, In-Spire Sounds, MES Creations and Drop All Words Media

By all accounts the Episode One boys smashed it at Tap Social Movement on Friday. A beautiful crowd witnessed the trio decorate the airwaves with their uniquely poetic, earthy Hip Hop for around two hours in front of the Covered Market,‘s delightful Christmas tree. 🎄

There’s one more chance to catch Episode One this side of the New Year, they will be playing at Common Ground Oxford on Dec 21st from 6pm alongside our bredrin Kemastry of High Focus and a selection of artists involved with In-Spire Sounds and Push & Pull Records.

If you have to miss that for some strange reason, never fear, look out for some exciting announcements from King Boyden, Rawz and Easy regarding collabs with The Bullingdon, Port Mahon and others in 2024…

Stay tuned Lovers! ☮️💜

It’s cold outside Lovers, but we trust you are all keeping those precious hearts warm and cosy in these sub-zero times!

Those of you that are close to the camp may have already heard rumours that Inner Peace dreamboats Rawz, King Boyden and Easy Chalmers (formerly known as Reejai Music) have merged into the mysterious conglomerate known as "Episode One". They have been working on some crazy interesting projects over the past year, the first one to see the light of day being this world first piece of conceptual Hip Hoppery.

Captured on reel to reel tape at Sugar Rays Vintage Recording Studio in Essex; one of the world’s only fully functional 1950s recording studios, and filmed for a special on YouTube’s popular 50s revival channel Bopflix Films, Episode One used world-first recording techniques to immortalise their interpretation of this pivotal decade in global history. Featuring the first known raps recorded through a 1955 RCA 44-BX Microphone (made famous by Elvis) and synthetic sub-bass picked up by a microphone manufactured in 1938.

This track is the first from their debut release, Epoch; a science/history/futurist research project/conceptual Hip Hop album that launches with a pop up exhibition at the Old Fire Station, Oxford in January, more on that in due course! (or check out OFS’s website right now if you can’t wait!)

One love!

03/06/2022

You’ve seen the pics, watched the movie... now hear the music!

Inner Peace Records proudly present to you; "Glass Cages", the first single from the Digging Crates EP which will be released at a funky ass event in Oxford next Saturday 11th June.

We heard there’s some sort of going on this weekend but to be honest, we’ve been too busy working on this to notice. We managed to get it ready for you just in time so you've got a chance to learn the words before the gig, we hope we aren’t interrupting anything...

Just 9 days to go until the team launch the EP which has been in the works since Rawz, Reejai Music, King Boyden, Call.Me.Tiece, Tang The Pilgrim and Tiger spent four days making music in the Pitt Rivers Museum exploring and sampling the instrument collection alongside a team of African musicians which included Tang’s famous dad Boni Wanda.

On June 11th at OVADA Gallery the team will be performing the whole EP in it’s entirety for the first time ever, supported by Boni and his band WANDA-NA-KL, the night will also include a special spoken word set from Rawz accompanied by Mbira player Miles Ncube.

This is set to be a evening not to be missed, you can still get your tickets from the OCM website or Eventbrite but hurry, because they are going pretty darn quick!

You’ll find a link in the comments section.

Can’t wait to see your smiling faces and dancing feet Lovers, it’s been too long!

Digging Crates was developed by the Urban Music Foundation and Pitt Rivers Museum, it is part of the Humanities Cultural Programme and supported by TORCH - The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities, Helen Roll Foundation, CLORE Duffield Foundation, Art Fund Access Fund, St John's College, Oxford, In-Spire Sounds, and co-promoted by OCM.
