Careless broadcasting or indicative of a more systematic undervaluing of artists?

Thanks to The Herald Sun for sharing my thoughts about anthem singers’ terrible lack of airtime at sporting events, on social media yesterday.

I’ve had these views for a long time and I know they’re shared by many, but after not being able ‘to see’ my great mate Ben Clark Sings perform so brilliantly at yesterdays Australian Boomers game, I felt compelled to speak up and spark the conversation. There’s an opportunity here for networks to make a really positive change. I don’t think it’s too much to ask. Feel free to share this post if you agree.

Pre double show day catch up with this icon 🤘🏼Crackin human and one of my all time favourite singers. Any musical theatre fans out there check out the 1992 Aussie cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. His Judas is off tap! I listened to it on repeat in high school before playing the role in my final year and I assure you Jon rocked both ‘Heaven on their minds’ and the tight leather pants much better than I ever could. For the record, both my voice and pants split…a lot!! 😜

About last night 🥹🇫🇷🫶🏻

Whatta ride. Its taken a while to get here, but boy was it worth the wait. So so sweet. JVJ is simply unlike any other role I’ve played. A true mountain of a ‘heroes journey’ and I could not have been more grateful to walk in his well worn shoes for those 3 hours last night.

Thank you to the wonderful, (respectful) and vocal packed house last night. Your reception was off charts.

Thank you to our fabulous crew and tech team. To my dresser Matt and makeup artist Linda for guiding my every backstage move.

Thank you to our creative and production teams, for all your sage advice, your guidance, your deep knowledge and your generosity.

And thank you to the most beautiful bunch of people im lucky enough to share the stage with. The support and love Ive received from this cast these past couple of months has been nothing short of incredible.

Now we rest…and do it all again tonight.

🇫🇷Update 🇫🇷

Ill be starting my Les Misérables journey a little later than first anticipated. A very unlucky accident in a fight rehearsal has left me with a small fracture in the cartilage behind my larynx. So ill be back into rehearsals in mid April when the injury has healed and my voice is 100%. Exact opening performance date is TBC, but hopefully it wont be too long on the sidelines and I’m grateful to be supported all the way by this fantastic company.

A big thank you to the incomparable and very generous Dean Chisnell for continuing on as Jean Valjean whilst I recover.

Life presents us with so many things that are completely out of control and asks us to respond accordingly and calmly. So as they say, “this too shall pass”.

In the meantime, I’m totally in awe watching my new cast mates both onstage and in the rehearsal room. Such a warm and fun group of talented and inspiring people. I look forward to joining them all on the barricades very soon - JP 👍🏼🙏🏼❤️x

🎭 THANK YOU PHANTOM 🎭

After almost 400 performances between London, Sydney and Melbourne, it’s goodbye for now.

It’s hard to sum up in words everything that I’m feeling right now but ill start by trying to give adequate thanks to those who’ve made this chapter of my life so special and helped me along the way.

Thank you to the two beautiful companies I’ve watched, revered, laughed with, learned from and sat in awe of.

Thank you to CML, RUG, OA, the extraordinary creatives who entrusted me with this very special role and the countless memories I’ve created with wonderful people over almost 3.5 years.

Thank you to the most awesome phans who keep coming back for the magic of Phantom time and time and time again, and equally to those simply mesmerised after seeing it for the first time. Your incredible support, messages, cards, gifts and notes have been nothing short of humbling.

Thank you to my beautiful family, my close friends and my wonderful management. You ground me and support me so beautifully and unconditionally. The love you show is always felt and deeply appreciated.

I truly hope this isnt the end of my Phantom journey but if it is, thank you for everything you’ve taught me, everything you’ve given me and for this special story you’ve enabled me to share. You changed my life and I’m forever grateful for each and every opportunity I’ve had to wear the iconic mask.

To my Aussie company going out there one last time today, all my love, you are beautiful and spectacular and I will miss you dearly ✨🙏🏼❤️
