The Lord of the Rings trilogy utilised forced perspective to make Elijah Wood's Frodo Baggins appear three feet tall next to the other human characters. This was easy to achieve in static shots. However, when the camera was moving (which would usually break the effect), the crew had to design special props to maintain the illusion effectively. In scenes where hobbits and humans touched, child actors were used as body doubles.

Throughout Mad Men's 7 seasons, over 940 cigarettes were smoked on screen - although it is likely to be much higher including disused takes and deleted scenes. The show's creator Matthew Weiner didn't want any of the actors smoking real cigarettes as he believed it made them "agitated and nervous." Instead, herbal cigarettes were used on set which, according to Jon Hamm (Don Draper) "taste like a mixture between pot and soap."
