As Cold War Combat continues to expand, the overarching goal is to deliver a rich game-play experience that includes a range of assets.
We are pleased to release to you our first helicopter - the UH-1 Iroquois.
We started with this model to compliment our Vietnam War era assets, but will be looking to include more helicopter assets in the future.
With this aircraft come a number of new special rules that help to define it's unique role and capabilities.
Helo - Helicopters can only travel at low or medium altitude. However, they are generally very maneuverable. Helicopters may increase the difficulty of green or yellow turns by 1, in order to perform a turn before AND after their movement. For example, a Huey above could perform a single yellow turn at speed 1 after its movement, OR an orange turn before AND after its movement. If the helicopter cannot increase the difficulty of the turn, as seen here by the Orange speed 2 on the Huey throttle already being the maximum on the aircraft base, it cannot use this ability.
Hover - Aircraft with the ability to hover may reduce to speed 0 without crashing. They do however have 0 evade dice when hovering. They may also choose to land if hovering at low altitude.
Door Gunners - Aircraft with side mounted weapons that are crewed independently of the main air crew, such as door mounted guns may fire these during their activation without counting as the aircraft action. These weapons measure line of sight by using the turn and targeting tool 90 degrees out the side of the aircraft that the weapon is mounted on.
Transport - Some assets are able to pick up units and relocate them on the battlefield, or deliver units. A vehicle may take as many infantry as indicated next to its transport value. Vehicles must be landed and stopped in order to take an action to load infantry.
