Hey teachers!! Are you feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by classroom chaos? I understand and I want to help. Follow along this summer for tips and strategies to prepare for a smoother year! #calmclassroom #teacherlife #teachingtips
Happy New Year! May this new year be filled with hope, faith, and courage. Courage is not an absence of fear but a decision to do the right thing in spite of the fear.
I want to wish all of you my friends a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a new year filled with hope and love.
Your mindset to start your day matters!! Are you expectant that your day will be positive or negative?
It is important to choose the mindset that will help you experience the most peace and joy. The choice is ours alone. Others can’t make that choice for us. Choose wisely, your day depends on it. ❤️😄☺️
STAY FOCUSED!!! When we face crisis and difficult situations, we oftentimes will become distracted with many things including doubts, inadequacies, unbelief, and insecurities...just to name a few.
—
These distractions can be so loud that we often forget that our main focus is to solve the problem in front of us and not be drowned out with the loud voices around us.
—
If we allow ourselves to breathe, relax, think, and take on the challenge slowly but surely...we can position ourselves to overcome any obstacle that is placed before us. Be intentional, be patient, be mindful, and be focused! You can do this!!! 💪😊

For Mother’s Day...I wanted to post this video with my kids from last year. It’s so crazy how my girls have grown in a year’s time. I treasure every moment with them. They stay little for only such a short time. I love being their mommy. I hope that I could be a good example to them of what it truly means to be courageous and brave in a world that can be frightening and scary. They mean the world to me and I’m glad they call me “mommy”. 🥰

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our brave and courageous moms. You selflessly pour your hearts into your kids everyday. Today, we honor you! 🎊🎉❤️
Lessons From Everyday Things:
To some, this may seem like it’s not a big deal but this was a HUGE deal for me. Oftentimes, I sit in the sidelines while my family does adventurous things especially any activity that has something to do with heights. I am crazy afraid of heights. 😬🙈
—
This particular day, we climbed up a tower that lead to a hanging bridge. This is not the first time we have done this. On other days, I would climb the tower and wait for them to finish having fun crossing the bridge. This day, my daughters were begging me to go with them on the bridge. And I finally just told myself, just do it...do it for your kids...you may be scared, but as @johncmaxwell always says...just do it afraid. 😩😂
—
And I did...little did I know that my husband recorded the whole thing and was causing the bridge to sway a little bit to scare me even more. I even blamed my kids and it wasn’t their fault. 😂
—
Lesson in all of it is this...don’t be afraid to try something even when there is a sense of fear. It could be a simple activity such as this or a new venture or endeavor that you have always wanted to do. Many things can distract us from trying something, fear being one of those distractions. Having courage isn’t necessarily the absence of fear. It is doing something in spite of the fear. Now this wasn’t anything courageous necessarily but there is a lesson to it. Sometimes, we just need to take that first step, that first leap, and just do it...afraid!😎
Making an impact and making a difference is a process. And we have to go through the process to get to where we want to be.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight. It doesn’t happen without effort or hard work on our part. Difficulties and struggles do arise when we try to overcome the mountains of our lives. But it’s necessary to climb through that to get to the top where we will make an impact.
Have confidence that you can do it but also be patient. Anything worth accomplishing takes time.
This is part of a IG Live conversation that I had with my colleague and friend @miltonlouisgonzalez on the difference between the fixed and growth mindset. When I discovered this through a class that I was taking, it revolutionized the way that I view learning. Your mindset matters and the way that you view challenges and mistakes will determine your belief system and your actions. It’s that important!!!

For my teacher friends...which type of quarantine teacher are you?? 😂🤣
.
I found this to be hilarious and I can see my teachers under one of these categories. 🤓Laughter is so important and so good right now. Hope you enjoy. 😄

This is awesome! 🙌❤️
Something good is happening in the middle of this global crisis that we’re experiencing. People are proclaiming their dependence on God. They have come to realize that they cannot do this in the mere strength of man alone but in the power and strength of our God. 🙏

Thankful for all of the healthcare workers who are in the frontlines of this pandemic. Thank you for your work and courage. Thinking of my mom @adoraloresto who is an ICU nurse. Thank you mom for your service. 🙏❤️
