The original LATIN EXPLOSION radio show (1972-1982) goes back to Chicago at the peak of the Salsa explosion! Tito Puente, Joe Cuba, Johnny Pacheco, Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe, Ray Barretto, Larry Harlow, Gran Combo, Cheo Feliciano, Ruben Blades, Sonora Poncena and many more.
LATIN EXPLOSION was a midnight show seven days a week on WEDC 12.40AM Chicago. LATIN EXPLOSION’s last years were on another Chicago station, WOJO FM 105.1 weekday afternoons, then evenings and finally late night.
Incredibly, we got LATIN EXPLOSION on the air again in Sarasota! In June 2018 LATIN EXPLOSION launched! It is a two hour show Fridays 7-9AM Thank you, WSLR 96.5FM Sarasota Community Radio and Sarasota music fans!
