量子電池打破因果關係帶來新革命
日本科學家現在透過「無限因果順序( indefinite causal order ,ICO)」的量子效應,為量子電池充電。

量子力學是描述微觀物質(原子、次原子粒子)行為的物理學理論,研究作者之一 Yuanbo Chen 表示,目前常見的鋰離子電池,是用鋰等化學物質來儲存電荷,量子電池則使用原子陣列等微觀粒子。量子電池也可以說是由悖論提供動力,其工作原理是在原子和分子的量子態中儲存能量。

東京大學研究發現,量子電池能透過違反因果關係來運作。團隊指出,玻璃杯掉落(事件 A)會導致杯子破碎(事件 B),我們無法顛倒這倆事件的因果關係,但在量子物理學的幽靈領域(spooky realm),這並不適用,且可以將這一悖論融入量子電池中,提高電池效率。

東京大學科學家使用雷射、透鏡和鏡子為大型量子電池進行實驗室實驗。為這些電池充電通常需要多個充電步驟,但團隊利用無限因果順序量子效應(ICO)。將系統帶入量子疊加態,因果順序可以同時存在於兩個方向,允許多個充電步驟同時一起工作,而不是一一照順序。
