Kate Without Cable I'm Kate. I don't have cable. I write about television. Ever since I was a girl, I have adored the medium of television. And when I was a kid, I loved cable.

I used to beg for Letterman Top 10 list books for my birthday; I had a notebook in which I transcribed Jack Handy quotes; I taped every episode of NewsRadio. All my heroes were TV women - Buffy Summers, Clarissa Darling, Veronica Mars, Mary Richards. But now that I'm grown, I can't afford it. I'm guessing a lot of you have the same problem. So watch with me. I'll show you what's still great about

network TV (aka Free TV), what shows are awesome to catch in reruns on Netflix and Hulu, and I'll also tell you what cable shows you should probably swing by your parent's house to watch. Until cable gets cheaper, I'll be watching. And writing.
