What started out as Boston's only all female comedy show has become a global media platform for women in entertainment. The Ladyspike journey began in 2016, when creator Caitlin Arcand was asked to host an all female open mic at a local venue. When the venue turned out to be an unsafe environment for women, Caitlin knew she had to move it and continue the fight for representation of females in comedy. After emailing countless venues, the show was picked up by ImprovBoston in Cambridge and became Ladylike Comedy. The show premiered in September of 2017 and ran for two wildly successful years as the only all female show in the area, frequently selling out its 11pm time slot. The show showcased over one hundred talented women in comedy, including performers from Comedy Central, VH1, BET and AmazonPrime. Eager to expand the brand and message of Ladylike, Caitlin transformed her little local show into an entire media platform. Ladyspike Media launched in July of 2019, featuring its namesake web series Ladyspike, hilarious articles and live shows. After years of working in the drag community, Caitlin decided to expand Ladyspike's brand to not only represent women in entertainment, but also drag queens and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Today, Ladyspike Media strives to be a one of a kind representation of comedy, proving that women are here, women are hilarious, and women are the future of entertainment!
