Born in Dallas and raised in Austin, Tyrone Vaughan is the son of Jimmie Vaughan the founder and guitar player of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and nephew of legendary blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. Tyrone grew up in the fast rising music scene in Austin Tx and was heavily influenced by many blues musicians. Muddy Waters gave him his harmonica at an early age and his Uncle Stevie Ray Vaughan would give him his first 2 guitars. Young Vaughan would also get to see Bobby ” Blue” Bland, Albert Collins, Eddie “Hound Dog” Taylor, James Brown, Otis Rush and many others. Tyrone got to meet Muddy Waters Buddy Guy Albert Collins B.B. King & Bobby Bland and was friends with the Austin Blues Scene w/people like Denny Freeman Derek Obrien W.C. Clark Lou Ann Barton Doyle Jr. Alex Napier Paul Ray Keith Ferguson Clifford Antone and Stevie Ray

Only 2 people can hit a note as clean as Tyrone…and that’s Jimmie and Stevie- W.C. Clark

GODFATHER OF BLUES -AUSTIN TX
(A side note on W.C. Clark -Godfather of the Blues in Austin, TX) was a huge influence on Stevie and Jimmie and helped shape the blues scene as we know it today. Also W.C. pitched in along w/Stevie and Lou Ann Barton to buy me a Fender Music Master when I was 7 years old.

What's my name?

Among jazz vocal fans, Elvis Costello is known as the lucky fellow married to Canadian musical chanteuse Diana Krall. Considered by many to be among the most significant Post-Classic Rock era singer-song writers, Costello began his career as a mis-categorized punk rock act, working with noted pub rocker and record producer Nick Lowe and Stiff Records.

While recording his first full length album, Costello was backed up by the American band Clover – whose members went on to record and tour as Huey Lewis & the News. Members of Clover including John McFee, John Ciambotti, and Sean Hopper would reunite with Costello for a series of shows in November 2007.

Costello has gone on to a critically acclaimed career including a string of albums, television appearances, and regular touring. His 1978 album, This Year’s Model was described as, ‘so ridiculously good that one’s immediate inclinations are to clamber effusively over the top, superlative peaking superlative.” The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Melody Maker, and the NME place the album towards the top of releases that year.

As an aside, while attending the NARM music convention in Orlando, I was temporarily stranded on a stuck elevator with the clearly frustrated and "late for the show," Ms Krall. Under the circumstances, she was as cordial as one could have expected.
