We’re back on track.. been cooking some hot galletas lately, and here’s a sneak peak at what’s coming up in the next months and throughout 2024.
🍪 Hailing from the pacific coast of Colombia, La Ruka ( ) is a singer-songwriter drawing influence from a wide variety of urban rhythms such as Salsa Choke, Dembow, Exotico and Afrobeats.
We’ll be releasing an EP from her in 2024.
🍪 Cartagena-based producer, singer-songwriter (pronounced “arn-al-dos”) is coming strong with a unique blend of Afro Colombian beats, highly addictive deep vibes and electro soukous. First single from his EP “Caribe” releases October 13
🍪 From Tilburg, the Netherlands, and poet-singer Krage ( .peijnenborg )cooked up a mind-blowing album with some of the craziest synthesized Cumbia Sonidera ever, experimental Afrobeats and psychedelic Mento. The album releases mid-2024
🍪 Native from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Caribombo is on a never-ending quest for the perfect fusion between Afro-Latin drums, sizzling electronic elements, and instruments and voices from the French-African diaspora. His second album releases end 2024.

Naija! (Nigeria / Nigerian / all things Nigerian).
Among other editorial playlists such as "New Music Friday Ghana", & latest tune "Try To Test" was also included in "New Music Friday Naija".
Mostly sung in Hausa and Pidgin English, a simple meaning to the song is "don’t stand in a far distance and assume what you don’t know. Get closer, see it, feel it, before coming to a conclusion".
I was wondering why would this song be featured in this playlist.
Zongo Abongo says: "Hausa is an ethnic group in Nigeria, and one of Africa's most commonly spoken languages after Arabic, French, English, Portuguese, and Swahili. It is a lingua franca and a language of trade in West Africa. It is mostly spoken in the northern part of Nigeria, and also in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Eritrea, Germany, Ghana, Niger, Sudan, and Togo. Most Islamic scholars also preach and teach the Koran in Hausa.
As for Pidgin (or Broken English), many African countries speak their own formula".

Currently, Damian plays the "Gaita hembra" in the legendary Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto . Traditionally, la Gaita hembra (or "female Gaita"), a 5-hole flute made of a cactus called "cardon" originated from the Caribbean Coast of Colombia, is in charge of playing the melody, while the "Gaita Macho" ("Male" gaita, a 2-hole flute) player provides musical accompaniment and rhythm, using a maraca with his other hand. We recorded two songs with Damian on this album: ✅ Latin Hip-hop tune "Recógela" (feat.
