The Central Oklahoma Black/Red Alliance (COBRA) is an anti-capitalist information clearing house and DIY media network. This new-media project is part of an international informal network that not only provides an alternative media outlet for people who are accused or convicted of anti-capitalist, anti-state, anarchist and earth/animal liberation direct actions, but is also somewhere we can publis
h direct action reports from active revolutionary groups. In this way, we aim to help revolutionary individuals and social movements bypass the corporate media’s manipulative stranglehold on information. COBRA objectives:
-Elimination of the State, hired labor, inequality, and private property;
-Construction of a free society, without classes or States or frontiers, founded on anarchist federalism and mutual aid;
-Abolition of all forms of authority whether economical, political, social, religious, cultural or sexual;
-Widespread introduction of direct democracy, the transfer of full key decisions about the public life to assemblies of workers, students, and other groups of oppressed people. We actively oppose all manifestations of prejudice within the workers' movement and society in general and we work alongside those struggling against racism, sexism, [religious] sectarianism and homophobia as a priority. We see the success of a revolution and the successful elimination of these oppressions after the revolution being determined by the building of such struggles in the pre-revolutionary period. The methods of struggle that we promote are a preparation for the running of society along anarchist and communist lines after the revolution. We oppose imperialism but put forward anarchism as an alternative goal to nationalism. We defend grassroots anti-imperialist movements while arguing for an anarchist rather than nationalist strategy. Our planning shall always be based on direct action, against parliamentarism and reformism, both on a theoretical and practical point of view. This website aims to collect and distribute news and analyses produced by various anarchist, communist and libertarian socialist groups and organizations from throughout the world. By doing so, those involved hope to facilitate debate and discussion of libertarian socialist and anarchist ideas, and improve communication between such organizations globally. The site is also intended to bring these ideas to a wider audience and encourage more people interested in social change to join and form anarchist-communist groups, and to network such groups. The purpose of the site is to:
-Collect and distribute the news and analysis produced by anarchist, libertarian socialist and communist organizations and individuals worldwide;
-Facilitate fraternal debate and discussion between organizations and individuals of these traditions and promote greater unity between them on an international level;
-Provide a space where other anarchists, socialists and anybody else can learn about the activities and views of the anarchist tradition and engage in constructive dialogue with them; to provide a space for alternative, critical views and analyses of the world from a libertarian perspective. Our solidarity is not based on whether the contributions which we receive fit a strict ideological checklist. We do not impose ideological limits on our solidarity, although we DO NOT support people that provide information to law enforcement or snitch on allies or co-defendants. We have no connection to the direct action groups which send us anonymous reports, other than in our general support for actions taken by individuals or groups in the fight against capitalism, against the state, and for earth, animal and human liberation. We also denounce the capitalist-industrial system itself for its mass terrorist activities in furtherance of profit and control. Similarly, any direct action listed on this website does not imply our participation or personal involvement in it, unless we specifically stated this ourselves. COBRA reaffirms a commitment to the polymorphous revolutionary struggle and to all forms of resistance against exploitation, be they sit-ins, leafleting, occupations, graffiti, general assemblies, strikes, sabotage and attacks against oppressive machinery. Most importantly, our listing or support of any prisoner DOES NOT – in any way, shape or form – indicate that COBRA believes a prisoner to be guilty of any alleged “crime” unless the prisoners themselves assume responsibility. Our solidarity IS NOT based upon perceived guilt or innocence; nor is it based upon a prisoner’s alleged support of, or connection to, an underground movement or activity. Listing and support, as described above, is based upon one being charged and/or accused of revolutionary/liberationist activity taken in defense of the earth – rather than whether we believes such allegations to be true or false. Information from revolutionary, anti-imperialist, alternative, independent and movement media or individuals is encouraged.
