I’ve been modelling for 14 long years, and have seen so many young, clueless girls come into the industry, too scared to ask their agency the gritty questions they’d like to. Like…
“When am I going to get paid?”
“What size should I be and how do I maintain this body healthily?”
“How do I stand out from everyone else?”
To be honest, a lot of the issues we models suffer from – anxiety about our bo
dies, fears about budgeting and, of course, how to moisturise effectively – are worries that affect many other people in many different areas of life. I want to help, support and empower others by drawing on my own experience and those of my friends and colleagues. ModelTypeFace will be a safe place for people to get information about issues that I know, from personal experience, concern lots of us. I’d also like to make you laugh along the way…
So far in my writing, as well as witty and concise Facebook statuses, I’ve written for Topman, The Sabotage Times, Vagenda, The Telegraph and The Truth About Beauty
My modelling has taken me worldwide and I’ve worked for prestigious clients such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and iD, though now I’m much more commercial, which suits me! I’m at Bookings Models, and Igor looks after me. My very first ambitions were ‘RSPCA Inspector’ and then ‘social worker’. While I have gone down a very different path, modeling’s allowed me to get involved with helping the planet and other people through fashion. I’m now an ambassador for People Tree, the Fair Trade clothing company, and working at Friends of the Earth as ‘Model and Bee Activist’!
