On the heels of the “Jesus Christ the Exorcist” Rock Opera, Neal Morse’s latest prog epic aptly entitled “The Dreamer – Joseph: Part One” tells the classic story of Joseph (the one with the coat of many colors!) using the medium of progressive rock as only he can!

The story unfolds with Morse employing amazing vocalists like Ted Leonard, Matt Smith and Jake Livgren to sing in the roles of Joseph’s brothers, as they grow dark with jealousy and throw him in the pit.

As well as casting the characters in the story, Neal also sought out the finest musicians for the musical “roles”. So you’ll hear the soaring guitar playing of Steve Morse and Eric Gillette among others, as this familiar story comes alive through amazing music that will thrill all fans of progressive rock. The album however has everything a fan would look for: from long epics and odd time signatures, to very melodic and song-oriented tracks.

“The Dreamer – Joseph: Part One” is everything you would hope for from a new Neal Morse progressive rock album and more. And this is just Part 1, ending with Joseph in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. “Part 2” will follow in 2024!

I’m a bit nervous day today, it’s the first time I’ve played my forthcoming new album ‘The Harmony Codex’ to people other than my family and friends. We’re at L-Acoustics in North London for the first album playbacks for media and other people from the industry. It’s a fully spatial audio immersive experience, a 65 minute 10 track musical journey, everyone plunged into darkness (the way I used to engage with albums as a kid), listening on an 18.1.12 surround sound system.

I am very pleased to announce my next solo album ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ will be available worldwide from the seventh day of the seventh month this year.

The journey this album has taken me on has been riddled with emotion at every turn, plans unraveled, pitfalls were stumbled upon, and the darkness and beauty of the sins manifested and took their grip on many levels.

I am so very proud of this album, and the process of creating and producing this 'concept' album was something that I am truly grateful for.

To play all of my exotic instruments again was a beautiful delve back into my musical beginnings, and I fell in love all over again with these exquisite forms of arsenal that were literally hanging on my studio walls as art pieces.

Now, they all take up residency amongst my guitars. Re-strung, and reignited with Magick.

My new solo album ’Songs From The Blue Room’ is released on June 23rd. It was written and recorded largely during lockdown and helped keep me sane! Anyway, rather than go on about it myself I’ll leave it to respected Sunday Times, Billboard & Music Week writer Paul Sexton who says;
