There comes a moment in time when every photographer or film maker has to reach out to the expert who knows every part of their camera or lens. Whether their gear needs to be revitalised, repaired, restored, reinvented or simply serviced it is these expert technicians that work behind tools to keep you doing what you love to do.
Wayne Rogers is one of those guys who not only has an excellent sense of humour, but is able to tackle the most inconceivable faults or problems you might face when it comes to imaging.
Camera Clinic is an Australian icon that has been built with a solid history. Over forty years ago, Laurie Rogers, who is recognised as a AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) Honorary Life Member started the business with film, since then there has been some dramatic changes in technology. Wayne carries in his footsteps and now focuses 90% of the business on digital camera repairs, design and manufacture.
In this special F Stop Lounge three part series, professional film maker Lee Herbet from Capturing Passion has joined forces with myself to record the stories behind the camera from one of Australia’s most talented camera technicians. We invite you to sit back and find out some of the many stories Wayne shares from his Melbourne based family business.
Thank you to Wayne and all the staff at Camera Clinic for allowing us to film this after hours. My sincere thanks also goes to Lee Herbet for his passion for story telling. If you are interested in learning how to create stories like this one I highly recommend you check out the course Lee has put together on how to edit video using Final Cut Pro – you won’t be disappointed.
