BREAKING: 19-Year-Old Girl Commits Su!cid£ Over Disputed Marriage

Nyiru Garang Lual, aged 19, committ£d su!cid£ in Boikou Village on Tuesday after getting pregnant and allegedly rejected by her boyfriend's family in Aweil South County.

According to a family member who spoke to Aweil News Agency this evening, Nyiru went to the house of her boyfriend who is said to have impr£gnated her with the expectation of getting married to him on June 3, 2024.

Unfortunately, things turned out badly as her boyfriend's family opened a case in a court rejecting her saying their son was not ready for marriage.

Over this rejection, it is believed that Nyiru had regretted the relationship, feeling humiliated, and promptly committ£d su!cid£ on Tuesday before even attending a court on Wednesday.
It is also said that no one quarreled with her or blamed her for pregnancy in her family.

The incident occurred on Jun 19, when she was brought back to her family house for the second time after escaping to her boyfriend's house. She stole a rope and went to the forest where she hanged herself and stayed there until her body was discovered yesterday.

BREAKING: SOUTH SUDAN'S $12-BILLION OIL DEAL WAS SIGNED WITH A FAKE SHEIKH.

South Sudan’s former Minister of Finance Dr Barnaba Bak signed the 12billion-US-dollar oil for loan deal with a fake sheikh suspected to be implicated in international crim£s, according to an investigation by Africa Intelligence.

In April 2024, a leaked document showed that South Sudan has agreed with a United Arab Emirates firm to lend the country about 12.9 billion US dollars in exchange for crude oil payment in the next 20 years.

The agreement, seen in a report of the UN Security Council's panel of experts, was first published by the Bloomberg news agency.

When contacted on Monday, 29th April 2024, to respond to the leaked document, Government Spokesperson Micha£l Makue
£i denied the validity of the $13 billion UAE loan agreement.

However, the Minister of Information referred Eye Radio to the Ministry of Finance for further clarification.

"Why don't you ask the Ministry of Finance who is said to have signed the document? For me it's not true, there is nothing as such, but, you check on the finance and find out from them because they are said to be the signatories," Maku£i said.

Man promised scholarship, money by Riek Machar accuses Machar's office of broken promises

Amaso Gatwech Biel, who met First Vice President Riek Machar in February 2023, has accused the office of the First Vice President of failing to fulfill promises made to him.

During their meeting on February 27, 2023, Biel alleges that Machar promised him a scholarship abroad, $6,000 to start a farm, and a position as an SPLM-IO mobilizer. However, Biel claims none of these promises have been realized, citing obstruction by individuals within the FVP’s office, particularly Hon. Maluit, the Director General for Finance.

"Since then, nothing has happened regarding those three promises from the office of the FVP. It is not because His Excellency doesn’t want to help me, but because there are individuals who don’t want others to succeed, such as Hon. Maluit, the DG for Finance in the office of the First Vice President," he posted on social media.

Efforts to reach the VP's office were Unsuccessful.

Government unveils new rules and protocols for meeting president Kiir

The council of ministers has approved stricter procedures for government officials seeking meetings with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the deputy information minister said on Friday.

The new measures, introduced by minister of presidential affairs, Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro, aim to improve health and safety protocols in the president’s office while streamlining the scheduling of visitors.

Deputy Information Minister Jacob Mijok Korok explained that ministers must now submit a formal request to the Cabinet Affairs office, which will then forward it to the ministry of presidential affairs.

The ministry will then schedule a meeting with the president.

“So, the ministers have to fill and submit a forms to the office of the minister of cabinet affairs before rushing to the office of the president,” Korok said in a press briefing.

“You have to fill the forms and this form will be taken to the office of the minister of presidential affairs. And then you will be actually informed that your time actually has come,” he added.

The new procedures are designed to reduce congestion in the president’s office.

Exceptions are made for vice presidents and advisors who are still permitted to request direct meetings with the president.

South Sudan Government Introduces Arabic Language and Islamic Religious Education into Curriculum

On May 23, 2024, the South Sudan government announced the introduction of Arabic language and Islamic religious education into the national curriculum.

Arabic language will now be a compulsory subject for students in primary grades 5 to 8, and students in secondary school will have the option to choose Arabic language as a subject.

Vice President Hussein for Service Delivery Cluster Abdelbagi Akol described the introduction of Arabic language and Islamic religious education as a "remarkable step towards a more comprehensive and inclusive education system."

The government and education partners have flagged off the distribution of 2.5 million school textbooks across the country.

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit has recently announced new rules regarding the exchange rate of the South Sudanese Pound (SSP) after it reached 360,000 SSP for $100. He declared that the new rate for $100 is now 145,000 SSP, and he expects it to reach 45,000 SSP soon.
The president believes that these measures will help stabilize the economy and increase the availability of commodities for civilians. He also mentioned that Western Bhar El Ghazal State Governor Sarah Cleto Rial has 72 hours to address the issues in her state or face consequences.
President Kiir emphasized the importance of free speech and the right to vote for the people of South Sudan. He further stated that the next election should be held in December 2024 to improve the country's economic situation.
