A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the eastern Lake Ontario region Sunday Night through Monday. The best potential for higher snow amounts is mainly limited to the higher terrain of the Tug Hill and western Adirondacks, with much lower snow amounts expected for surrounding lower elevations. The higher terrain of the western Southern Tier may see minor snow accumulations as well, with very little elsewhere including Buffalo and Rochester.

The NWS SPC is calling for us to get a Lake Effect snow Monday through Tuesday. I’m not issuing any Hazardous Weather Outlooks yet. But I will be watching statements issued by the NWS.

Tonight we'll see some nuisance snow showers and light accumulations southeast of Lake Ontario, with dry weather elsewhere. On Saturday any leftover snow showers east of Lake Ontario will fall apart, with dry and not as chilly weather otherwise prevailing.
