The 🇵🇭Philippines never runs out of amazing curvy mountain roads! There's nothing I love more during our roadtrips than riding through beautiful forests, zigzag roads and majestic mountain views. Atimonan in the province of Quezon was such an unexpected gem!
I just feel excitement every time we enter a road like this.❤️

Our roadtrip to Bicol turned out to be some kind of endurance motorcycle challenge for us.🙈
It was the most difficult ride we've ever done.
But then getting to experience riding through roads like this makes it worth it instead of just taking a car or public transportation. Traveling on a scooter or motorcycle is just way more immersive and fun!
Of course it comes with it's cons, too.
When we are tired on the road and wet from the rain we are always like: "Never again." But once we are back home we just can't wait to go for the next roadtrip!
I guess challenges like this are just really addictive.

Riding through Quezon was fun! One more province checked out on our list.✅ Here we come, Bicol!...

Yay 🥰

"Masarap, kahit walang pasko" 😁 the sentence my tired brain created that made Ate laugh towards the end of the first day of our South Luzon roadtrip when we spotted this special Biningka.
I love riding through different Provinces in the🇵🇭 Philippines because I get to see and try so many of the local specialities that are not sold around the rest of the country!
This Biningka with its cute Pandan basket was one of these specialities.

Biningka is my favorite Christmas food in the Philippines and I'm always happy to find some even outside of the holiday season. This Bibingka in Luisiana, Laguna was nothing like I've seen before!
The bingikas I've had before were more bread - like. This on the other hand was like a soft, moist kakanin with young coconut in it! It was a family recipe with the original store still remaining that belongs to their Lola Dory.

We just wanted to have one to try but after tasting it we needed a whole package. It came in an adorable basket that turned out to be a local product of this area of Laguna made form the leafs of Pandan trees.

If ever you're in the area, riding through Luisiana towards Lucena, Quezon this Biningka made by this lovely family is a must try. ❤️...

Since Siquijor is famous for its albularyo, healers, and magic practices, we had to stop at a traditional faith healer/hilot to try!

Healing and magic in Siquijor are not tourist attractions. Locals genuinely practice these methods. Believe it or not, I love how the foundation of their practices lies in their desire to live in harmony with nature. (Hence, all the potions they use are from herbs and natural medicine gathered around the island's forests.) 🌺

The healer we visited was located in an easily accessible area of the town. While her practice isn't exclusively for tourists, it's a spot where tourists would go.

Then our Habal Habal driver, Kuya Chris, told us the other day: "I don't know how reliable these healers are. The most effective ones are the shamans who live in the jungle." 🌴

As we learned, there are shamans who embody everything you imagine when you hear about magic practices. These shamans reside so deep in the jungle that you need to hike through an almost invisible, muddy path to reach them. Their huts are marked with symbols that indicate they offer healing if you manage to find them.

Although Siquijor also has a bad reputation for black magic, Kuya Chris assured us they don't engage in harm.
They only practice healing, and even the infamous voodoo doll is used to heal those who seek their help.

For me, all of this is another example of how exciting and diverse the culture is in the Philippines! 🇵🇭❤️..

We finally visited the famous Divisoria market in Manila, Philippines! It was one of the few last famous places we haven't explored in the city. Amazing food and street food, busy crowds, cheap products and the happiest people we've met!

September 19-22: The 1st Philippine International Flower Festival at Space Ayala, Makati City! 🌸

We attended the press launch of this exciting upcoming festival and can't wait to see it in "full bloom" on the 19th! 💐

It's always exciting to witness a new event come to life. We didn't just get a sneak-peak of what to expect by the beautiful flower arrangements but we could learn some interesting insights as well.

🌺 By the floral exhibits, fashion show, workshops and more, this new event is not just aiming to make flowers more pop**ar. They want to help local farmers, boost tourism of provinces around the country where flower gardens can be found as well as Philippines economic growth.

Can't wait to see what the very first Philippine International Flower Festival is going to be like! Who will we see in September? 😍

This day in BGC turned out to be one of our most favorite days in Metro Manila, Philippines! We met some of our lovely subscribers, were "shocked" by the city with Kummander Daot and even met up Calvin Castiel who showed us some side of the big city we've never seen before. We even met another familiar face that was truly unexpected!

24/07/2024

Please stay safe everyone affected by Super Typhoon Carina! 🙏🇵🇭 We kept getting alerts on our phones all day but luckily although there's heavy rain, no flood in our area. I can see the situation in other provinces / Metro Manila is not this fortunate.
Please stay safe everyone and stay indoors if possible! 🩷

🇭🇺Hungarian Embassy events in the 🇵🇭Philippines are always fun but somehow surreal to me. Seeing my two homes in one place, parts of the Hungarian culture, music or food in the middle of Metro Manila is always a unique experience!

It's also interesting how falling in love with the Philippines made me love Hungary more as well.
I grew up in Hungary but spent most of my adult life in the Philippines. It was here where I started to have more interest, curiosity and appreciation for both cultures.

I compare my life in the two countries a lot in our videos. I live in the Philippines and choose this country as my home for many reasons.
But will always love Hungary as well! 🥰...

SHOCKED IN BGC! 😱

Joke lang.

It became our regular joke every time we are in the BIG CITY. But even though we usually prefer nature trips and the peaceful province life, BGC became such a comfortable area to us lately. It's thanks to all the friends we've made here!

BGC always reminds me of how diverse the 🇵🇭Philippines is. You can truly find all kinds of places and lifestyles here!

It feels good to stop by once in a while to meet friends, attend events and live the as we call "sosyal life" a bit.

Yesterday we had the most fun: meeting some of our lovely subscribers, old and new friends and taking in the vibes of the busy city.
Finally made it to the famous 3D display and the previously viral store, too famous for its strange displays.

More fun to come today!

🛖Kubo Picnic day!
I remember when my parents were visiting us in the 🇵🇭Philippines we took them to a cool local beach side restaurant on Nacpan Beach, El Nido.
It was just a table in front of the house of the fishermen. We had the best fresh seafood there ever!! Grilled fishes, squid with rice, and my parents loved the toyo calamansi dip.

We got many comments on our vlog about that day saying: Why didn't you take your parents to a better place? You should feed them something special, like a pizza or food from a famous restaurant, not this "cheap local food"!

It surprised me so much! Might be not as exciting for those grew up eating these, but these are the most special foods possible for foreigners!
Exactly the kind of food my parents wanted to try, loved the most and the kind of food I love eating the most here as well.

To me, nothing beats grilled food with rice, dried fish (love tuyo!) boiled gulay like okra (okra doesn't even exist in Hungary!) fresh fruits and itlog na p**a as we call it. Just love the combination of taking a bite of all these considered to be "simple food" with rice. Best feast possible! 🤤...

On our way home from the Quezon land hunt trip we stopped by Lucban and were surprised by the beauty of this historical, charming town! Also discussed our experiences and decesions regarding the area. Is it a suitable place for my Hungarian Parents in the Philippines? Can foreigners even buy a land in the Philippines?

03/07/2024

🇵🇭We continued our land hunt my Hungarian Parents sent us on in Quezon, Philippines. We found ourselves on an unexpectedly remote road to view a really interesting land! Then we continued to Atimonan where the surroundings and the beautiful Bantakay Falls truly amazed us. Although we loved the area we had to make a serious decision.

One of my favorite things lately while traveling around the Philippines is finding uniqe accommodations.
Sometimes we just stop and search where we get tired on the road and sometimes our stay is the highlight of the whole trip!
I stayed in many different places throughout my travels.
Cute Homestays, unique hostels with beautiful views and really nice hotels as well.

Lately, I've been using Travereel as a cool new way to find unique stays and hidden gems.
Just like social media, you can browse through video reels discovering new destinations and the best stays recommended by other users and you can easily book your hotels straight from these videos!

Plus if you get inspired by other users and decide to upload your own videos as well on Travereel, you can earn a commission every time someone books a hotel through your video links.

Download the Travereel app to get started and follow them on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook to learn more! 🥰

🇵🇭 Bantakay Falls in Atimonan, Quezon is what you call a hidden Gem!
One of the many spots around the Philippines where I'm left wondering: how is there absolutely no tourists here?? Of course this impressive turquoise fall is not completely unknown. Especially since Atimonan is pop**ar spot for riders driving passing through to or from Bicol Region.

🌴Still, we got enjoy this place just all by ourselves. And it's not just beautiful pool of water that is beautiful! The whole area looked enchanted. It was one of those trails where I wished it lasted longer! Walking through the the jungle, climbing up steep rocks holding onto tree vines...
Exactly the kinds of adventures I love!

🙈And if all of this wouldn't be impressive enough, we even saw a group of wild monkeys on our way. Just right besides the road on our way to the Atimonan zigzag road.

Truly a wonderful place I wish more people will discover. 🩷✨...

My Hungarian Parents are planning their retirement in the Philippines they sent us on a mission: scouting an area and checking lands in the province of Quezon! This was an exciting first step finding the potential future home for our family in the Philippines. We didn't just see some beautiful lands but got to stay at beautiful places and met the Friendliest Locals as well.

28/06/2024

We were invited to the 2024 Pusong Pinoy Awards Night as guests, after being awardee last year. A special event for foreign lovers who truly love and feature the Philippines in their videos! We met old and new friends and had a great time with this year's nominees.

🇵🇭The Philippines truly never fails to surprise me... The first time we rode through the province of Quezon was earlier this year, when we headed to Bicol region. That time we didn't stop at all in this province and what a huge mistake it was ...!
🌴Now, back in Quezon we got to see some truly beautiful places. The biggest surprise was Lucban.
We found ourselves in a beautiful, historical town. And it's not just the church that is amazing! Every single building looked charming. Houses with little balconies, even Jollibee, Chowking and other franchise stores were located in cute, historical buildings.
✨Walking around here reminded us of Vigan. Similarly interesting but with its own unique charm.

⛪The Lucban Church became one of my favorites as well. In my opinion this is the best way to showcase historycal structures. Maintaining their beauty while letting time leave its mark on them. I loved seeing the beautiful old walls with plants growing between the cracks. The old yellowed, yet still beautiful windows. (History of the Church on the 6th photo).
Beautiful!
🩷Lucban should be a must stop if you're ever headed south....

While visiting the former highest point of the Philippine Highway in Atok we couldn't be satisfied until seeing the new one as well.

So we left the beautiful foggy Maligcong, Bontoc and headed towards the remote Tinoc in Ifugao stopping by the New Highest Elevation of the Philippines. It turned out to be the scariest but some of the most exciting and beautiful roads we've ever experienced! Cold temperatures, landslide, high elevation and drops, unfinished rough roads, and even a scary encounter that left us uneasy for the first time.

26/06/2024

We left Sagada and headed to a remote village we found on Google maps - Maligcong, Bontoc. The Philippines is full of hidden gems and this place was the proof! The most beautiful Rice Terraces we've ever seen straight out of a fairytale! We drove through some of the steepest roads we've ever experienced, hiked Mt. Kupapey through dense pine forest, enjoyed some cozy time in the rain in the peaceful village of Maligcong.... This is what a perfect day in the Philippines looks like!

PHILIPPINES MOST IMPRESSIVE MOUNTAIN ROAD! Blown away by Benguet - Mountain Province Travel

We continued our journey on the beautiful Halsema Highway from Atok, Benguet. The road that connects Baguio and Bontoc and was known for long as one of the world's most dangerous roads! We found it to be the most impressive and beautiful mountain road we've ever drove through.

High elevation (we visited the formerly highest point of the Philippine highway) mind-blowing views, exciting roads... And all of it led us to the home of lemon pie, mountain tea and wonderful culture: Sagada to spend the night. To my special place where I can never help it but get a bit emotional!

Something I love about traveling around the 🇵🇭Philippines is the unique local food you can have in each area.
Just traveling from one province to another and you'll be able to find something you won't see in the rest of the country!
The iconic lemon pie and mountain tea are my favorite examples in Sagada.
As lemon grows in higher elevation having lemon pie makes sense! And the mountain tea...no need to say I came home with a bunch to have enough until our next trip to the Mountain Province!

The first time I visited Sagada last year I asked a sales lady in the palengke: What is mountain tea?
And she answered: It's tea from the mountains...

And so I stick with that eversince. Until today I'm not exactly sure what plant mountain tea comes from.
It tastes like a mixture of green tea, mint and just something unique.
For me, the taste of good memories in beautiful Sagada. ❤️...

Atok, Benguet - At the 2nd highest point of the Philippine highway we didn't just find amazing views and cold temperature but one of my most favorite fruits as well!

I'm always amazed how you just travel to a new province in the Philippines and you are greeted by unique local products you can't find in other areas.
And it's not just passion fruit you can find in along these high elevation roads!

Beautiful vegetables, fresh barako, rice coffee, rice chocolate and more!
This is why it's always worth it to explore the local products besides the beauty of nature....
