BACKGROUND
The Philippine Mining Industry is a high technology and multi-stakeholder industry. Technical Information, Progress Reports, News Developments, Issues and Concerns about the industry should be consolidated, and made available to all stakeholders at all times. The challenge is that there is no venue for Industry to express oneness and cooperation among stakeholders. OPPORTUNITY
There is

a need for a publication to consolidate Technical Information, Progress Reports, News Developments, Issues and Concerns on the industry. This publication will be the vehicle to communicate positive Industry moves to safeguard the environment, other issues and concerns and CSR efforts as well. It is committed to communicate the good Safety and Health, Environment and Social (S.H.E.S) practices within the industry to government agencies, local government units, business sector and the public in general. It will be the venue for cooperation between Government Agencies and the Private Sector. This endeavor is consistent with Section 135C of Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order 2010-21, The Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Philippine Mining Act of 1995, wherein operating mines are mandated to publish Information, Education, and Communication materials on social, environmental and other issues/concerns related to mineral resources development and responsible mining operations; and to conduct continuing public awareness and education campaigns through publications and other forms of mass communication. OBJECTIVES

Advertising will be the main source of revenue. Advertisements will come from: Industry Suppliers, Mining Companies and Other Advertisers


FORMAT
PORTAL will have a magazine type format. This will add balance to the technical articles written about the industry and will make reading more interesting and enjoyable to pass on readers as well. CONTENTS
