Meet the team 👋

Victor Hernandez is a communications junior at Texas A&M university ~ San Antonio while minoring in business communications. Joined as a staff member for El espejo In hopes to gain experience while on a mission to become a jack of all trades. He currently works European wax center and in his free time binges everything real housewives, cries to pop music, and writes. Upon graduation, he hopes to venture out into the marketing world or even the entertainment industry.

Meet the team 👋

Amanda Nicole Aguillon is a communications major at Texas A&M University-San Antonio minoring in English Literature. She transferred from San Antonio College in October 2022. When she is not going to class, she works at Cracker Barrel, where she is a restaurant hostess. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and attending concerts. After graduating in the summer of 2024 she hopes to have a successful career as a social media manager.

Joe Ramon, is a communications major and sociology minor at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. He serves as the Student Government Association’s Director of communication, a radio host for TAMUSA radio, and photographer for El Espejo. In his free time he enjoys going to local D.I.Y rock shows, photography, and working with Nine Pin Punk. After graduation he hopes to pursue a career in music or sports journalism.

Meet the team 👋

Amber Lynn Esparza is a senior communications student minoring in women’s and gender studies at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Amber has been an editor for The Mesquite, A&M-San Antonio’s online student news publication, since she transferred from Palo Alto College in spring 2021, taking on various positions like multimedia editor, photo editor, copy editor and managing editor. Most of her time at school consists of writing, editing and taking photos. She also hosts a semi-weekly radio show for A&M-San Antonio’s Enlace Radio called “Varieties from the Vault.” One of Amber’s college goals was to experience working for El Espejo before graduating (and she did!). Outside of school, she is also a freelance contributing writer and photographer for the San Antonio Current. Amber is a creative at heart, always searching for new creative projects to bring to life and looking to collaborate with others. In her free time, Amber enjoys thrift shopping, doing deep dives on the music she’s listening to and watching movies, TV and YouTube. After graduating, Amber hopes to build a career that can incorporate all of her passions for media and entertainment.

Samuel Rocha is a full-time communications major at A&M-San Antonio. He is currently staff writer for El Espejo Magazine and a station manager for TAMUSA Radio. Meet the team 👋

Omar is a senior communications major with a minor in business administration. He also was part of the TAMUSA Esports program, playing in their Super Smash Bros Ultimate league under the name PiCPAC. Omar was brought onboard the Espejo Magazine team as an illustrator for the magazine. Along with being employed with the magazine, he is also an employee at the Regal Quarry Theater where he can be found performing various tasks. In his free time he likes to draw various characters born from his feverish imagination, play video games, preferably classic Namco arcade titles, cook, or just watch some cartoons.

Melanie Reyes is a communications senior with a minor in English at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Currently she is the Design Editor for El Espejo magazine and volunteers as one of the hosts for the TAMUSA Radio. In her free time, she likes to sing, draw and play on her saxophone. After graduating, she hopes to have a career in design and photography, while also being able to make and sell art commissions.
