Digital Development Debates is published by the Development Policy Forum of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Each issue focuses on a prevailing topic from the development policy sector. Our authors – all experts from their respective fields – explore different f

acets of this central topic in their contributions. Digital Development Debates takes a two-tiered approach: We offer short journalistic articles aimed at interested laypeople, and more in-depth technical articles that provide well-founded and detailed information. Digital Development Debates is an interdisciplinary format that takes advantage of every interactive opportunity: we want to encourage conversation between readers and authors. Our goal is to create a lively platform where experts, journalists, students, business people and other interested parties can continue to expand the existing pool of information and with room for debate – as the name Digital Development Debates promises.
