At that time the Tolkien fan community was very active on the net and tons of fun parodies and edited pictures were being created and it seemed that there ought to be a place for it all to be collected. So, in 2002 LOTR Spoofs was begun on a crappy free Geocities site that crashed every couple hours. It has grown
