I have added a transcript of a letter from Stephen F. Austin sent to "Austin's settlers" in July of 1823.

This was written right after the Mexican government awarded him the contract to bring immigrants into his Texas colony.

By 1835, nearly 600 people lived in San Felipe de Austin. They were bakers, newspaper printers, lawyers, tavernkeepers, and enslaved people. The town served as the capital of Stephen F. Austin’s colony in Mexican Texas.

Today, visitors to San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site —located less than an hour west of Houston—can step back into the historic city. Villa de Austin is an outdoor exhibit composed of a group of buildings that evoke one section of the town similar to how it would have been in the first decades of the 1800s.

Buildings include a schoolhouse, hotel, printers’ office, and courthouse. The work is informed by archeology and archival research that gives insight into what San Felipe looked like nearly 200 years ago.

I've been providing online information on High School Football Stadiums since 1999. I started in Texas, where I live. Today I have 4449 stadiums listed in 50 states. Most states are partial listings, but I have complete listings in Texas New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, & Georgia.

During this off season I hope to complete Tennessee. I' have already identified 311 High School stadiums in Tennessee. I list any High School stadiums, regardless of size. The only qualification is it has to be the field that the varsity team plays their regular season home games.

If your team does not have its own home field, just let me know where you play your home games. After I have most of the high School stadiums i will add the college and pro fields as i come across them.

I need your help if I'm going to get this done by August. I mostly need you to help me correct my mistakes.
