"I landed myself in the dressing room with a bag full of makeup and hair supplies with next to zero idea what I was doing. What I found walking in was the warmest welcome from a diverse, enthusiastic, and extremely kind group of women."

Read Ashley Peterson's in-depth article on local female collective Dangerous Women here.

By Ashley Peterson Scrolling Facebook this spring, I found my dear friend, Cascadia, asking for volunteers to help with hair and makeup for a production called Unsettled by Dangerous Women. I landed myself in the dressing room with a bag full of makeup and hair supplies with next to zero idea what

Photographer Charles Peterson (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees...and the rest!) has a brand new exhibit that opened at Tacoma Art Museum this past weekend -- the exhibit runs through the end of May next year. Check out this in-depth interview I did with Peterson for The Comet Magazine here, and make plans to see the show in person soon!

By Ron Evans In the dimly lit clubs, basements and dives of Seattle during the late 80s and early 90s, a musical revolution was brewing. In the midst of this gleefully grimey scene stood Charles Peterson (probably in flannel and ripped jeans), a visionary photographer whose lens was right there to

It’s out! The 70s pinup edition of The Comet Magazine is making its way across town. Pick one up and see who you recognize.

Way more than pin ups in this issue though, including How (and Why) To Get Into King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard by Jon-Mark Pitts, Rants on a Plane by the great folks at The Time Capsule, ask Moxie by Skylar Hansford, an interview with the incredibly talented Erin McNamee by Kris Lahd, NCW Arts Alliance First Friday map and features on Icicle Creek Center for the Arts and Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra. not bad for a FREE publication! Partial pickup list in comments.

Tomorrow the latest pinup issue of The Comet Magazine drops! 70s edition. These are always fun and a little nerve-racking, because I never know what kind of submissions we are going to get. But this one ended up being super fun. And colorful! Cover model: Janie Noviello

Due to this months cover of The Comet Magazine a few folks out there are once again flipping them over as to avoid civil unrest and juvenile delinquency. On the bright side, it illustrates the power of advertising in the Comet!

The September issue is filling up fast and we are already selling ads for October. Message me ASAP if you want in.

This Saturday The Old Barn Drinkery hosts The Voice's Lila Forde with special guests Laine&Lahd. Kris Lahd did a great interview for The Comet Magazine with Forde about her time on The Voice, her style, influences and more. Check it out here!

By Kris Lahd 24 year old Seattle native singer/songwriter, Lila Forde not only caught the immediate attention of music superstars John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, and Niall Horan, she also captivated millions of hearts world-wide with her smooth, old-soul vocal talents on season 24 of NBC.....

An amazing night all around. Even more amazing that over 400 people showed up after only having a couple weeks to plan and organize and promote the show.

Thanks again to Joel Myrene and the Numerica Performing Arts Center for making it happen, and a special thanks to the cast and crew of Rock of Ages (Jaime Donegan) who graciously moved their rehearsals at the last minute so this show could happen. This one took a village! And it was worth it, if the Bonafide Band rolls into your town, don’t miss it. Krist stayed and talked with a massive line of fans, a true gent! Also CobraHawk blew the doors off the place. They just get better and better. The energy in that room was electric from the first note.

Getting to see Mark Pickerel play drums for a Screaming Trees song was my highlight of the night. I never got to see the Trees during that era so this was a first. I’ll be buzzing a while.

by ron evans Well, Wenatchee is in for a galldurn treat this month. Krist Novoselic, co-founder and bassist for Nirvana is coming to Numerica Performing Arts Center July 12. And he’s bringing some of his notable pals, including original Screaming Trees drummer Mark Pickerel. Sure, this is a fever

If you’re a fan of Nirvana and the bulk of the music that was coming out of Seattle (and adjacent to) in the early 90s you will have lots chomp on in the July issue of The Comet Magazine! I interviewed Krist Novoselic about the new Bonafide Band project that he’s bringing to Wenatchee on the 12th. I also interviewed famed photographer, Charles Peterson about capturing and chronicling one of the biggest music scenes in history and about his brand new book on Nirvana. This issue is pretty epic! Drops Wednesday.

Jaime Donegan's (timely) article in The Comet Magazine on the origins of Bavarian Leavenworth has certainly stirred up some conversations! Read the full story here:

By Jaime Donegan Much has been written about the small, fairytale Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. Newspaper articles, tourist brochures and even a book entitled “Miracle Town” tell the story of a boom town that went bust several times during the first half of the 1900’s. Nestled in the Casca...
