Time to vote!
For undergraduate students, check ssmu.simplyvoting.com to vote YES for the fee increase! Why? The DPS has not asked for an increase since 2008 and the fee is not indexed, yet all are costs are increasing. This fee increase would allow us to maintain and support student journalism on campus and continue to offer McGillians with news story in both print and online!
For graduate students, you can vote at pgss.simplyvoting.com about the renewal of the fee for PGSS students!

Many clubs have already endorsed us to continue serving the McGill community with independent coverage of student news.
For more than 100 years, the DPS newspapers have provided a forum for students to express their opinions and be kept informed of important campus events. Our papers are read by many who are concerned about their student life, and we work to defend students' interests and voices.
To those who believe students are not interested in us, you missed the point of our existence. Even if you don’t read the DPS newspapers, you probably heard of their investigative articles or news coverage that shaped student politics and held McGill accountable. Our work benefits all of the McGill community.
This week, our existence is on the line. You have until November 18 to vote YES for the free press at https://ssmu.simplyvoting.com/

An independent publisher since 1981
The Daily Publications Society (DPS) is a fully independent, student-run, not-for-profit organization which publishes two of the oldest student newspapers at McGill University:
The McGill Daily began as a daily sports rag in 1911 and has served the McGill community ever since, evolving into its current format as an alternative media outlet. The Daily currently produces a print issue every Monday throughout the school year, online content year round, and Unfit to Print, its podcast produced in cooperation with CKUT 90.3 FM.
Le Délit Français is since 1977 the only francophone newspaper at McGill University. It was first limited to a French section of the regular McGill Daily, then grew to be its own weekly French issue (then called Le McGill Daily Français) before separating itself from The Daily in 1979, becoming its sister newspaper.
Over the years, The Daily and Le Délit’s alumni have gone on to work for the CBC, Maisonneuve, the Montreal Gazette, the National Post, On the Media, rabble.ca, and Saturday Night Live, among others, reinforcing the DPS’s identity as an alternative journalism school on a campus that doesn’t offer formal journalistic training.
If you are interested in advertising with us (in print or online), want to know more about our rates or have any other question you can email us at [email protected] or call us at 514-398-6790.
Want to get involved with our papers ? The McGill Daily and Le Délit are always looking for new writers and contributors to join their team! As a student at McGill you are already a member of the DPS and have a say in how our papers are run. No experience is necessary.
