[Stellar Blade Demo]
So far it's nice, it definitely has familiar game mechanics, don't be surprised but it has that souls game elements but I wouldn't consider SB as a souls-like game. Controls feel a bit clunky but I think it's designed to be like that[?] so that the players can utilize the equipment designed to have a better Parry and Evade windows. Combat is challenging which is nice the clunkiness I mentioned before was getting in the way sometimes, I kind of don't like the mechanic of having this long recovery frames after executing a skill it's kinda ruining the flashy tempo but that's just me. For the narrative I can't make comments about it yet but I'm a bit skeptical since it's a Korean developed game and so far some K-games I played like BDO and Dragon Nest didn't resonate with me when it comes to the story, you might think that I'm being unfair with me comparing SB to MMO but there are MMOs with excellent narrative like Final Fantasy XIV, I'm just hoping this game would change my views when comes to Korean games' narrative I'm not hating on those games I enjoyed playing those but that's just my opinion. So far yes Stellar Blade is showing a lot of potential, they say that one of SB's inspiration is NieR: Automata and I love NieR:A so let's see how the game does. Not a Day1 for but I'm looking forward to play the game fully.
here's a clip from the Boss Challenge mode from the demo. not a good run and there's a much more optimal approach to this fight but I'm recording this gameplay at 6AM and I needed some sleep hahaha. ENJOY!
P.S. I'm not a game reviewer, what I've written here is just from what I feel about the game. if you want to share some pointer that I probably missed please share it on the comments below, what do you think about the game? :3
