Edinburgh is one of the most mysterious cities in Europe, with its gorgeous dark medieval walls and history. I'll be visiting Edinburgh in a few months and I'm excited to bring you all along!
Here are 5 facts that you may have not known about Edinburgh:
1️⃣ the world's only knighted penguin can be found in Edinburgh.
2️⃣ Edinburgh Castle sits on a 700 million year old extinct volcano.
3️⃣ in the 17th century, Edinburgh was given the nickname 'Auld Reekie' due to the horrible air quality from coal burning as well as the smell of open waste.
4️⃣ Edinburgh was the first city in the world to have its own fire service.
4️⃣ from the 16th to 18th century, over 300 people were convicted of being witches and were killed at Castlehill in Edinburgh.
