AlaBlackma: Our State of Mind
Throughout Alabama’s complex history, African-Americans have played a significant role in shaping the narrative that defined the state. Today, blacks comprise more than a quarter of the state’s population and in December 2017, proved that we are more than just the sum of our numbers. When engaged, informed and motivated, we are an empowering force, capable of - again - reshaping the narrative that defines our state. We are AlaBlackma. I created this page to give us a space to share and debate ideas, recognize our influencers, celebrate our icons, promote our culture, enterprises and achievement, and forge our collective intelligence to -- quite simply -- make a difference.
