Seven years after we shot it, we have a seventeenth film festival selection for my stoma documentary "The Bear Necessity". It'll be screening as part of the Reflection of Disability in Art Festival - RODI in Thessaloníki, Greece!
When I shot this film, I didn't tell anyone involved that I actually had a stoma. Seven years later and I'm finally able to talk about it, and even made a video for the BBC about stomas - but I'm proud this was how I got started and really grateful to everyone who helped make it happen
The Bear Necessity was supported by Creative Scotland, FIND Scotland, Screen Education Edinburgh, Station House Media Unit and GMAC Film and tells the story of Scottish charity A Bear Named Buttony
