BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2024
DAY 27
As we wind down this black history month, I’d like to share another excerpt from my book, “Mr. E Keys to Life,” about the the Art of Laying Lame and Peeping Game.
Navigating Deception with Cunning and Grace
In the maze of human interactions, there exists a subtle dance between perception and deception. I’ve been blessed with the ability to visually document an assortment of different characters and situations being a camera operator and documentarian. I have been the quiet 🤫 observer for many years while outwardly expressing a character of a feral individual and most importantly shown human interactions that I can rewind ⏪ over and over again to analyze like a life scientist. I’ve had the opportunity to record and reflect some of society’s highly esteemed individuals and some that are not. I’ve had interactions with brilliant, talented, and intelligent people and those that lack the capacity for true wisdom.
Allow me to preface this concept and then let me share a story with you. There is an old neighbor of mine who happened to be a pimp that said to me that there is a delicate balancing act of laying lame and peeping game. To lay lame is to feign ignorance, to cloak oneself in the guise of innocence amidst a sea of manipulation and deceit. To be a considered foolish and unwise because a wise man speaks only when there’s something to say whereas a foolish person speaks because he has something to say. To peep game is to see through the veils of deception, to discern the hidden agendas that lurk beneath the surface of seemingly benign interactions. Utilizing these skills together form the cornerstone of navigating the treacherous waters of human relationships with cunning and grace.
Imagine, if you will, a young man named Chill, navigating the bustling streets of Houston teeming with life and energy. Chill, with his keen intellect and sharp wit, is well-versed in the art of laying lame and peeping game. He walks with purpose, his eyes scanning the crowd for any signs of danger or deceit. Chill is very attractive, articulate, and well versed with the city’s street and nightlife. Yet, outwardly, he appears nonchalant, indifferent to the machinations of those around him.
One day, as Chill is approached by so called friends with interest that would honor his late relative, he encounters a group of individuals who seek to ensnare him in their web of deception. They ply him with flattery and false promises, attempting to lure him into their schemes with honeyed words and empty gestures. Yet, Chill remains unfazed, his demeanor calm yet alternating depending upon the situation and individuals he’s interacting with as he lays lame, feigning ignorance to their ulterior motives.
Unbeknownst to his would-be manipulators, Chill is peeping game with laser-like precision. He sees through their facade of charm and charisma, discerning the darkness that lurks beneath their smiles. With each subtle gesture and fleeting glance, he gathers clues about their true intentions, weaving together the threads of deception to unravel the intricate web that they have spun.
As the interactions unfold, Chill deftly navigates the treacherous waters of deceit, his actions guided by a keen intuition honed through years of experience. He plays along with his would-be manipulators, stringing them along with false promises of his own, all the while gathering information to use against them that they are unaware of. Like a master strategist on the battlefield of human interaction, he moves with calculated precision, biding his time until the moment is ripe to strike.
Finally, when the time is right, Chill reveals his true colors, exposing the deceit of his would-be manipulators with a cunning and grace that leaves them stunned and speechless. With a knowing smile, he walks away unscathed, his reputation intact and his enemies vanquished.
In the end, Chill emerges victorious, his mastery of laying lame and peeping game serving as a testament to the power of cunning and grace in the face of deception. In a world where trust is a rare commodity and betrayal lurks around every corner, his story serves as a reminder that sometimes, the greatest strength lies not in brute force or overt aggression, which can be traced to
an individual that can be emotional controlled, but in the subtle art of navigating the complexities of human relationships with cunning and grace.
There’s a saying that goes like this, “A wise man can play a fool, but a fool can't play wise.”
I personally have been in many situations where I had chosen to be the most talkative and seemingly harmless naive person in the room, utilizing this overtness as a shield.🛡️ Having seen someone murdered in front of me at my place of work over a financial loss, and other times where a fight ensued among friends because of some sort of treacherous events, I have chosen in certain situations to play the fool. Like the best car salesman at the dealership that sells you a car, I’ve utilized certain psychological methods and strategies like money and material possessions to trap 🪤 people into believing that they have won and have the best deal. My dad says, if you loan someone some money and they don’t pay you back it was a cheap write off. Just like him, I still like to scare them a little bit. 😆🤫😎
This approach has saved lives and afforded me the opportunity to write this book with records and receipts from my life experiences. There’s a saying that says a fool is known by his speech and a wise man by his silence.🤫 I can recall 20years ago, Tony Manson saying to me that the wisest man in the room listens, and there’s a technique to observing the characters in your life. Remember, to “lay lame and peep 👀 game.”
