I've been raising my five-year-old son Luke on my own since forever, and my ex hardly ever sees him. Four months ago, I started dating Jake. He seemed like a total catch — a teacher who loves kids. When I introduced him to Luke, they hit it off right away. Recently, Jake invited us to his parents' house by the ocean for some chill time. It sounded perfect, so off we went.

This was a long flight I'll never forget. I had a window seat, a teen had the middle one, and his mom had the aisle.

He didn't sleep all night, watching a series. He was wearing headphones, but I heard everything. I asked him to make it quieter, he said, "Okay," but really, he ignored me.

CUSTOMER WAS TREATING MY GRANDPA LIKE TRASH, SO I GAVE HER A REALITY CHECK

My lovely grandpa lost his wife, my grandma, a few months ago. He couldn't bear being alone in the house after she was gone, so he applied for a simple job as a cashier at our local grocery store to have someone to talk to and to keep himself busy.

I wasn't sure if it was a good idea, so I would come over to the store randomly to visit him. Usually, when I came, the store was empty, but the last time I drove over, I saw a customer talking to him. As I approached the cash register, I could hear the conversation, and I felt my blood boil.

I just sold my parents' house and went through the whole place, making sure everything was cleared out. I even had it professionally cleaned before putting it on the market, and no one had lived there since.

So, Jake and I had a pretty solid marriage for the first few years — until he started hanging out with this guy from work, Steve. Steve was a loudmouth with no girlfriend, no wife, but he somehow knew everything about marriage. And Jake? He started listening. Suddenly, he's coming home with all these "tips" Steve gave him.

Then one day, Jake walks in with this stack of papers, grinning like he just cracked the code to life. He hands it to me, I look down and see the title: "Lisa's Weekly Routine for Becoming a Better Wife." My jaw just about hit the floor. We're supposed to get married in a week. My parents are literally crazy about him! I mean, he's all good, really, but I feel like he's not what he seems.
