“If you’d have told me when I first came to Crystal Palace that I’d be here for nine seasons, I’d have found it hard to believe, because it’s rare in football to spend so long at such an amazing Premier League club.

“I would like to thank everyone: all my managers, the chairman [Steve Parish], [sporting director] Dougie Freedman, and the players present and past. I’ve had a journey with so many people here over the years.

“I also want to say a massive thank you to every one of the fans. The support that I’ve had personally, and the support that they give the team, is like at no other club. When times are tough, Palace fans really get behind the team, and that’s so important to all of us. I will always be a fan of the club.” 🙌

💬 Roy Hodgson has given his verdict on Ebere Eze and Michael Olise after the 2-2 draw with Fulham:

“[Ebere] Eze has been playing exceptionally well, but I wouldn’t regard his performance [against Fulham] as one of his exceptional ones. He is an exceptional player.

“Him and Michael Olise, the whole of the first half, were below what we expect from them but the great thing was that they came back into the game. They kept fighting and they came back into the game.

“It is a very important lesson for two very talented boys to learn: it is not always going to be like last week when we had comfortable possession and flowing moves.

“Sometimes you have got to find another part of the game. I was very pleased with Ebere Eze and Michael Olise, with what they did, and by the end of the game they were in the ascendency.” 👏
