Tweed Salamander was built, in 2007, to be a writing and recording work space, for my band (Liquid Nixon) and myself to create in. Tweed Salamander is a private studio but, as my schedule allows, I occasionally take on client projects and artist productions. What sets Tweed Salamander apart, from most project studios, is that it was designed and built to be a professional audio recording facility.
.. it's not simply preexisting rooms with some carpeting or foam panels put up on the walls. My rooms were designed with unique wall angles that prevent destructive standing (sound) waves... plus, specifically designed room treatments and bass traps, to absorb obstructive frequencies that make a recording sound thin and unprofessional. To take things one step further, my control and tracking rooms were built with an independent "floating room" design. This simply means that each room is a "room within a room", which is built on a rubber buffer... to minimize sound vibrations, from room to room. This is crucial for keeping the sounds, that you want to capture, within the tracking room... and the sounds that you don't want, out of the recording. Tweed Salamander's design details, coupled with my experience & passion, makes a truly professional sounding production possible. A production capable of standing side by side with best productions out there.
