Meet the 12-year-old hero, Janela Arcos Lelis.

In 2011, Janela's photo went viral as she saved the Philippine flag from the strong typhoon "Juaning" that hit Albay. Her bravery in conquering the heavy rain and high flood was honored by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).

As we celebrate the Philippines' independence and sovereignty today, let's continue to wave our flag and be brave for our country, just like Janela did.
